Nad-E-Ali

Is this dua for Shia’s only? I have heard that there is a Sunni version of it as well…?

No offense made to anyone - just wanted to know for my knowledge.

Re: Nad-E-Ali

is it Nad-e-Ali or Nida-e-Ali?

Re: Nad-E-Ali

"Bismillah AhirRahman NirRahim "
"Nade alian mozher alajaeb
tajedho awna laka fenwaeb
kolo hamen wa gamen sayanjaly

be azzmatyka ya Allaho ya Allaho ya Allah
be naboowatykaa ya Mohammado ya Mohammado ya Mohammad
be welayateka ya aliyo ya aliyo ya ali"

Re: Nad-E-Ali

It is Nad-e-Ali.

As for whether it is for Shia or Sunnis, the dua is read asking that Imam Ali a.s. intercede on behalf of the reciter in asking Allah s.a.w. to grant protection or whatever is being asked for. The idea is that Imam Ali is a vaseela. I guess so long as you believe that Imam Ali a.s. can act as a vaseela, it wouldn’t matter if you were Shia or Sunni.

In terms of versions of the dua - I’ve never heard of a Shia versus a Sunni version, but I do know there is Nad-e-Ali - sagheer (short version) and Nad-e-Ali - kabeer(long version.

Re: Nad-E-Ali

Oh acha, then maybe thats the only difference longer version and a shorter one…thanks…

Re: Nad-E-Ali

I’ve never heard of a Sunni version of Naad-e-Ali, but I know Sunnis who do read it..

Re: Nad-E-Ali

long version:

short version:

would shias call this a dua??

Re: Nad-E-Ali

famous Sunni Muhaddith Shah Waliullah affirmed Naad e Ali in his texts and so has many other Sunni scholars so it will be more appropriate for u to ask your own scholars first why they called it a dua…

Re: Nad-E-Ali

i wouldnt just defend sunnis or its scholars. you’ll find very few sunnis who are just anti shia, thetruth is we are genuinely flabergasted by your views

i dont see it as a dua or an islamically correct text as its written. if it was more moderately written it could be said to be a description of ali ra and what benefits ali ra, as a pious follower of the prophet SAW, could bring to his students - during his test on earth! however as it is it is shirk

is this a dua for you?

Re: Nad-E-Ali

it may b flabbergasting listening to a wahabhi sheikh explain Shia beliefs…similarly a Shia zakir usually explains Sunni beliefs in a way tht ppl laugh tht there are ppl out there tht believe that sort of stuff…

try reading Shia beliefs frm Shia books and then u wud have some sort of base to judge from…just go to one of their scholars websites…ask me if u want directions…

Re: Nad-E-Ali

good point there is a lot of propoganda on both sides

Re: Nad-E-Ali

what is the original source of nad-e-ali ? who narrates it ?

Re: Nad-E-Ali

Quoted for best explanation.

I have found it to be a very strong dua.

Re: Nad-E-Ali

^ Which one? The shorter version or the longer one?
