LAHORE: The government is renaming the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as the National Accountability Commission (NAC), reducing the physical remand of accused from 90 to 30 days and allowing accountability courts’ judges to grant bail. According to a summary drafted by Law Minister Farooq Naek, the NAC will be answerable to the judiciary and the current NAB setup will remain intact. The changes will be introduced after the restoration of the sacked judiciary.
why they have to change the name? to score some points that they have a new system working in place to "protect" the looters? surely it has worked well in nailing few outlaws and smartly curbed by "the deals" by the dealers.
when laws can be twisted to please/target single person, ie musharraf or zardari no justice can be delivered.
all law and amendments should not be applied instantly but after one year. this will minimise law making for own purpose.
