Many of us are familiar with the misRaa: Badnaam agar honge to kya naam na hoga.
Discuss - how true is this? Do we live in a society of famewhores who crave fame and notoriety, where for some the cost of the notoriety is immaterial, see reality-TV stars, Meera-type scandals, etc.? What might the reasons be for such behaviour?
On a personal level, would you like to 1) leave behind a mark on society, 2) why, and 3) would the reasons for the fame matter to you? OR, is it preferable to pass through this life and world in obscurity?
First of all it is a MissRa - Ashar is the plural form of the word ShaiR..
I want to leave my mark on society but in a clean way - without getting Badnaam like munni - Some munnis in life just get badnaam without a darling ! you know what ya I mean :)
as according to chacha Ghalib sometimes your whehshat also becomes the source of yours/or some one else's fame !
Ishq mujko na sahe whehshat hi sahii
mere whehshat tere ShouRat hi sahii
@ Naabigh : Thank you for the correction :)
@ Partyslims : A lot of people seek immortality - many find that through their children and grandchildren - but others want their name to live on through their work or some sort of contribution to society. If it was possible to be famous as an artist or philanthropist or for having succeeded at some goal in life -wouldn't you want others to know or remember you for that?
Philnathropy is great. But even then, I would feel weird advertising that. As far as art is concerned, that is something which is meant to be shared, so if I had the talent, sure I would do that.
**With Anonymity comes the luxury of choice as well as privacy.... .. whereas once you are famous or infamous for that matter you are usually required to live up to a certain expectation often set by people who do not know you personally ! **
Well I think its good to be famous , but in a good way . But if you get little bit badNaam in the process , I won't mind as long as I am not hurting anyone :D
