ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Sports, Iqbal Muhammad Ali has resigned from his office after facing snub from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Addressing a news conference here, he blamed the board management for turning down his committee’s proposals for improvement in cricket players’ performance and the board administration as well.

“The state of cricket affairs is before everyone, it is in poor shape and yet nothing is being done to change the tide,” Iqbal Muhammad Ali said, who quitted after frustration at the state of affairs in national cricket.

“I am resigning because the government has not bothered to implement any of the recommendations by this committee for improvement and betterment of sports in the country,” Iqbal added.

The national assembly committee has frequently summoned officials from the PCB to appear before it, most recently on the spot-fixing allegations against three players, and has publicly called for PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt to resign.

Re: NA sports committee head quits over cricket crisis

MQM is now stepping up their stance against the in-house party....so Mr. Iqbal Muhammad also stepped down. This is however not untimely since PCB and Pakistan cricket are going down hill fast....
