ISLAMABAD: The directly elected National Assembly will be dissolved on Jan.16 next year, and a caretaker government would be installed to hold fresh general elections, said a news report.
As the 2013 general elections get closer, the political wheeling-dealing has gathered pace and new political alliances are going to be forged before the polls.
In case the National Assembly is dissolved in January, the constitutional limit for holding elections would be 90 days while the Constitution demands elections within 60 days after the completion of the constitutional tenure of the assembly.
The present assembly is going to complete its five-year tenure on March 16 next so the general elections might be held up until April 26.
So it means that the current govt is going to complete its tenure. That is prolly a Guinness world record as well along with those other records that made the books in Lahore recently.
Other records that did not make it to the news ticker are:
Pakistan sets world record of the most retarded people elected to parliament
Pakistan sets world record of the most people numb about their surroundings. Apparently 18 crore
BRING IT ON!!!
It's going to be exciting times ahead, remember watching election transmission in one of the previous elections. It was very exciting as the results are announced so can't wait till elections.
