Earlier on reports suggested that voter turnout had been lowfor the re-polling process.
Re-polling also comes a day after senior vice-president of PTI Sindh chapter, Zahra Shahid Hussain, was killed outside her DHA Phase IV residence.

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

What was the turnout percentage of the repoll?

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

Sir , He didn’t won yet , But he can
Results for all poling stations are safe with RO for the rest of poling stations and RO is ‘safe’ under military control .

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

One interesting thing is that the counting of these polls took hours (event though they had low turn out) although on 11th may the media had declared nawaz sharif the winner by 11 o clock.

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

They have to change/check the already counted votes of about 200 poling stations , and they will like to do it in late hours .

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

Read somewhere that it was 20%.

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

Alvi got 76000 votes to MQMs 37000, if we subtract the 17000 votes from yesterday even then Alvi was winning by around 20000.

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

Anyone who doesn’t like this then they can work to have Karachi declared an official civil warzone to be a UN protected area and have UN forces control the city to make it neutral.

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

after effects of the good governance we saw in Karachi during the past 5 years. Reconciliation policy?

what do you support? A sham election decided by goons of a militant outfit or a free election supervised by the military?

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

Alvi is the man!

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

I know that PTI voters, supporters, and sympathisers start getting into tantrum very easily (just like the leader), get abusive, agitated and uncivilised … and replying them would get me warning or whatever … so I humbly request that without going into tantrum, please try to sort out the mystery I could not understand. I would be happy with any logical answer.

NA-250: In 2008: Registered voters were 344000.
MQM bagged ~52000 votes and PPP came second with ~44000 votes.
(Seems, thappa machine was gone for repair, so MQM bagged nominal votes to win, else they could have bagged 200000 votes instead of 30000)

In 2013: Registered voters ~367000

Polling stations 180

No re-poll on 137 polling stations (~280000 votes) where it is believed MQM had better support. Re-poll happened on 43 polling stations (~87000 votes) considered friendlier polling stations for PTI.

Anyhow: Votes count revealed from 137 polling stations (first stage) and 43 re-polled polling stations (second stage) are:

First stage polling (143 polling stations):

MQM = 30000 votes or ~ 11.75 percent of ~280000 votes
PTI = 60000 votes or ~21.5 pecent of ~280000 votes.

Second statge (43 polling stations) … MQM boycott … strict military supervision on polling stations, incentive to PTI voters that if they vote they might win the constituency, else could lose. Result:

PTI got 17500 votes or ~20 percent of ~87000 votes.

Now, question arises:

What happened to MQM thappa machine (as claimed by some)? Did it went for repair again that they only managed ~30000 votes from 137 polling stations having ~280000 registered votes (where all polling were done on May 11), even when polling stations covering areas were considered favourable to MQM? If they had thappa machine, then was it not right to expect that they would have stuffed the boxes with much more than 30000 votes and would have stopped PTI supports to vote and get 60000 votes (note, there were 280,000 registered votes to rig)?

How come PTI did better from those 143 polling stations consider unfavourable to them (PTI got ~21.5 percent registered votes) compared to favourable for ‘PTI’ 43 polling stations under military supervision (PTI got 20.5 percent registered votes)? … Or was it that, PTI stole thappa machine from MQM and used it very well on May 11 polling at those 143 polling stations and did not allowed MQM voters to vote? Or was it miracle of Arif Alvi getting charge of ballet boxes, stamping machines and ballot papers in the name of taking them to polling stations?

I would again request that please do not show tantrum, try to read what i wrote, think and then answer logically. Thanks.

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

How did it dawn to you that 143 were 'unfavorable' to PTI? :S

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

hmm ... well, from media. But you are right. Media could be wrong.

Anyhow, what about MQM thappa machine, what happened to that machine? How come they only got 30000 out of 280,000 registered votes in constituency they were holding before election (and most claimed that they occupied many polling stations in that constituency and that no voting happened, but all what happened was thappa and rigging), and what about MQM stopping others to vote still PTI got 60000 votes from those 143 polling stations (double what MQM got from those polling stations)?

If all what happened in NA 250 constituency was thappa and rigging (11 May), then who was using thappa and was rigging May 11 election ... the one who got 60000 votes (from those 143 constituency) or one who got 30000 votes?

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

Good question Sa1eem.

One reason that comes to my mind (I may be wrong) that considering the hue and cry on various polling stations of NA-250 and media coverage, thappa mafia (I'm not referring to MQM, as I personally believe that not each and every vote for MQM comes through rigging at gun point) could not get time / courage to do the miracles.

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

^^^ Well, what media coverage ... EC did not held re-polling on those 143 polling stations because media did not covered those polling stations ... plus, as media propagate, all rigging MQM do, happens inside polling stations openly, where no one from outside can interfere?

Well, even 2008 election shows that stuffing could not have happened, as MQM got only 52,000 out of 344,000 registered votes from NA 250. With thappa machine, they could have got probably 200,000 votes easily.

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

If not for the thappa machine, they would get ~10,000 votes. :P

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

@Saleem bhia..
Wait for the next election when technology will be in place (hopefully).. though it's too early to make election prediction for 2018.. I'll still make my election predictions. MQM under the present clown Altaf Hussain will be totally decimated from electoral scene. Although your election prediction history on this forum has always been a total disaster in the past.. You can make your predictions once again and we will see once again who got the predictions right.

2018 will be total cleansing of Karachi from the clutches of this terrorist organization called MQM...

Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins

You mean, MQM thapa machine is so inefficient that they could only get 20000 thappa votes from 137 constituencies having 280,000 registered votes? :)

And what about PTI getting 60000 votes from those 137 constituencies? It seems MQM is also inefficient when it comes to stopping opponents voting, rather boosted PTI votes, as PTI got more percentage of registered votes from those 137 polling stations then what they managed from 43 polling stations that got re-polling. How sad. :)
