Re: NA-250 PTI candidate Arif Alvi wins
I know that PTI voters, supporters, and sympathisers start getting into tantrum very easily (just like the leader), get abusive, agitated and uncivilised … and replying them would get me warning or whatever … so I humbly request that without going into tantrum, please try to sort out the mystery I could not understand. I would be happy with any logical answer.
NA-250: In 2008: Registered voters were 344000.
MQM bagged ~52000 votes and PPP came second with ~44000 votes.
(Seems, thappa machine was gone for repair, so MQM bagged nominal votes to win, else they could have bagged 200000 votes instead of 30000)
In 2013: Registered voters ~367000
Polling stations 180
No re-poll on 137 polling stations (~280000 votes) where it is believed MQM had better support. Re-poll happened on 43 polling stations (~87000 votes) considered friendlier polling stations for PTI.
Anyhow: Votes count revealed from 137 polling stations (first stage) and 43 re-polled polling stations (second stage) are:
First stage polling (143 polling stations):
MQM = 30000 votes or ~ 11.75 percent of ~280000 votes
PTI = 60000 votes or ~21.5 pecent of ~280000 votes.
Second statge (43 polling stations) … MQM boycott … strict military supervision on polling stations, incentive to PTI voters that if they vote they might win the constituency, else could lose. Result:
PTI got 17500 votes or ~20 percent of ~87000 votes.
Now, question arises:
What happened to MQM thappa machine (as claimed by some)? Did it went for repair again that they only managed ~30000 votes from 137 polling stations having ~280000 registered votes (where all polling were done on May 11), even when polling stations covering areas were considered favourable to MQM? If they had thappa machine, then was it not right to expect that they would have stuffed the boxes with much more than 30000 votes and would have stopped PTI supports to vote and get 60000 votes (note, there were 280,000 registered votes to rig)?
How come PTI did better from those 143 polling stations consider unfavourable to them (PTI got ~21.5 percent registered votes) compared to favourable for ‘PTI’ 43 polling stations under military supervision (PTI got 20.5 percent registered votes)? … Or was it that, PTI stole thappa machine from MQM and used it very well on May 11 polling at those 143 polling stations and did not allowed MQM voters to vote? Or was it miracle of Arif Alvi getting charge of ballet boxes, stamping machines and ballot papers in the name of taking them to polling stations?
I would again request that please do not show tantrum, try to read what i wrote, think and then answer logically. Thanks.
