I talked to a couple of people in detail. One of them a sixty something man who was there with his wife. They were from Karimabad, part of NA-246. The man was himself a Punjabi and his wife was Urdu speaking. He told that until a few years ago, his wife and other family members were very active MQM supporters but after a few bad experiences they now have turned against it. He said that the general consensus for MQM is far from good due to obvious reasons. And the vast majority of MQM haters now favor PTI as they see it as the only reasonable replacement available to them. As a free and fair election is expected this time, he estimated that PTI could pull off above 50000 votes while it would be impossible for MQM to reach, let alone cross 100000 votes without their usual tactics. And if PTI somehow manages to convince JI to withdraw in its favor then even a victory will not remain improbable.
I agreed with him, so did the other people sitting besides and listening to us because his analysis matched our observations. Many of my friends and relatives live in that constituency, and I know for sure that more than half of them will vote for PTI.

I personally think PTI should be highly thankful if they get 30K votes which is very tough. Now remember its a very large constituency covering very densely populated areas.
All those voters from this area who I’ve personally spoken with, who actually were MQM voters originally but later backed off, have turned back once again and determined to stamp on “kite”.
Thats the exact reason why you just cant outright reject MQM from Karachi. It’ll happen but in due course.

I did and their literal reply was:
Good or bad MQM is their preference whenever it comes close to any other party.. (Disappoiting, right?)
A cleanup is being done within MQM afterwhich it’ll be much better as a party.
Ofcouse everybody is entitled to their opinion which we have to respect and we’ll see it shortly on Apr. 23rd

Disappointing indeed, but fortunately most of the ex-MQM supporters I know haven’t turned back, hence the optimism. Even a close fight will be considered a victory because apart from MQM, no one has anything at stake there.
Yes its just a matter of days now. There are rumors of a MQM boycott but I don’t think it will happen.

The statements of Loosing Party:
Ghost Polling Stations, Run by Establishment (if MQM looses), Run by MQM (if PTI looses)
Fake Voters, brought in by MQM (if PTI looses), brought in by Est (if MQM looses)
No adequate measures were taken i.e. no cameras were installed, no biometric system (by PTI)
What else PTI is going to come this time… they surely are going to loose and loose with some good margin.. this is what the ground reality is!!!
