As far as this constituency is concerned, in 2008 elections this was the standing of different candidates:

1. gillani 70000 PPP
2. sikandar bosan 45000 PMLQ
3. Malik majid 17000 PMLN

Now pmlq was siding with ppp, considering if the people had voted on party lines shouldn’t the votes of the winning candidate be well over 100000.

But that’s not the case, the main deciding factor is personalities, clans and then maybe the development work carried out by gillani, party factors well down the line.
