Exactly. This is not about winning or losing, and yes there is indeed a chance that PTI may not win this seat in re-polling. But is this the point? No. Absolutely not. The point is that this decision is an absolutely huge slap on those arm chair critics who were hell bent on proving the results ‘fair’ and ‘clean’. Their logic was that PMLN was expected to win majority seats, so it doesn’t matter if there was rigging or irregularities since PTI wasn’t going to win anyway. his is exactly the kind of jahalat you need to fight if you want people of Pakistan to understand and appreciate democracy. Hopefully today’s decision will help educate the masses that rigging is rigging and it is a crime! A crime against democracy and today tribunal’s decision to oust a sitting minister reinforces the severity of this crime.
On this very forum I have read those arm chair critics reaching idiotic conclusions that ‘I don’t think there was any rigging in NA-125 as my maid who is poor and illiterate voted for PMLN’. Don’t even get me started me on this whole ‘show us the proof’ rubbish. As far as I am concerned, according to Nawaz League supporters, PTI submitted ‘no proof’ to suggest any rigging or irregularities. A rich Jew from London must’ve called the judge to make him give the decision in PTI’s favour.
Waiting for Javed Hashmi to call a press conference and start blabbering how the poor judge received a prank call from Gen. Pasha at midnight and how Gen Pasha did the Joker laugh to scare the poor judge. Javed Hashmi would swear on his ever so famous Baghi title to say how he doesn’t need any evidence to prove how Gen. Pasha made 260 missed calls to judge’s number.
If this is what Judges have decided, then PML-N should not take it to higher courts, they should contest the elections again, this election should tell them about how people of Lahore in general and people of constituency feels about them and if they are on right track.
Let the drum for elections rolls… it would be interesting as i’ll be in Lahore in few weeks and since i live in this NA, would enjoy the election environment…
PML(N) goes ahead and challenge the decision in high-court and supreme court
and if they don’t and if they go for elections, will they have same measures to stop mishaps/rigging as they had in NA246 (cameras within polling stations, rangers etc)
Although it is basic right of SR to go to higher courts and challenge the verdict, but given the circumstances, it would be best if PML-N contest the election and it should be held in as it held in NA 246… if PML-N can win it again, then all well for them…
PML-N should contest it and then do something to Punish the ROs.. but how can PML-N govt can do that.. ROs are/were under election commission… and they are not regular employees of EC… they are borrowed for a day or two.. not only ROs, but the whole lot of staff.. who are not trained not properly equipped they come can do it and they have no regrets nor they want to do it.. though if they are asked to they have no other option… tu bhai zabardasti key begaar ka nateeja yehi hota hay..
Thing should be done is, RO and other senior level polling staff should be permanent employee of Election commission.. this when you can have responsible for all the problems…
