Whose loss would it be if Khawaja Saad Rafiq wins the re election? If a nation elects a known corrupt (Prize Bond winner) and rigger who cheated in elections then it’s their own loss NOT Imran Khan or his candidate.

Saad Rafique does have a vote bank in this constituency, but the fact remains that rigging took place. His statement saying that the tribunal held the ROs responsible, and not him, is quite silly…because obviously ROs didnt act on their own. ROs were just the tools to get the job done. Of course noone believes Saad Rafique sat at home, stamping away ballot papers. They always get the dirty work done by someone else.

In a re-election, PMLN would still have an edge, but I think the biggest impact of this decision will be on the JC. If a common consensus is developed in their minds regarding the behavior of ROs, then they wouldnt need to go any deeper into who commandeered those ROs.

I voted for the PTI in NA 125 in May 2013. And I would be voting for the PML-N in NA 125 in 2015. Not!My vote is still for the PTI.

PTI will need to work hard, good candidates and organization if they want to win, both things are lacking and there is no urgency to set these things straight in the upper echelons of the party. In the next elections the bureaucracy carrying out the elections would again be appointed by PMLN. So far PTI has done nothing to penetrate the country. They have only lost ground if we take the cantonment board elections as a barometer. If PMLN is able to put a few projects on ground, again roads…that would again change the situation for them.

This was the cheekiest move by PTI/Imran…to ask for these 4 specific seats. Losing these 4 seats would not cause PMLN to lose its government, but the insult and embarrassment would be enormous, as 2 are ministers, and 1 is the speaker.

if all four go against PMLN, this would be a big set back for them…and cast a doubt on the whole electoral process. I think the results can go against PMLN in all four constituencies and that was the exact reason why they didnt want them to be opened for scrutiny.

Give upper echelons of the party credit for putting their careers at stake to fight tooth and nail to get the issue of electoral rigging investigated. Seems like not many people like to admit just how much of PTI’s top leadership’s dedication, commitment, resources and energies went into this cause. After 2.5 years, the Tribunal gives an easy and glaringly obvious decision on a petition it was supposed to resolve in 120 days.

Nit pick PTI’s amateurish blunders and reckless moves all you want, but the truth remains, PTI is currently the only party in Pakistan which is passionately dedicated to fighting a cause and an ideology they strongly believe, that too at the expense of becoming outsiders. Imagine if all parties in Pakistan were truly struggling for a specific reform they believed in? PTI has chosen free and fair electoral system as their frontline struggle, where do the other parties stand?

^ this is a victory of Pti and they should capitalise. Pti at the moment is the party which can replace pmln, if they play their cards right, they can win. Organisation and choice of candidates would matter.
