.....it will persist as long as US is present there. Either Afghanistan can be handed over to NATO thus leaving the impression that one (foreign) country is holding the reigns or completely pull-out. If they really want people from Northern Alliance in power then they can provide full supply of arms ...
CAptain bhai,
Bohot kamzor ball phainky aap nain! Chikkah lag saktha tha per bhai ker kay rehnay dia.
OK!
Let me suggest something very very very important here.
Always look at your own position before telling someone else as to what they should do in a third party's house.
Pakistanis have a habit of over-inflating their position, and thus bluffing and huffing and puffing at the international card table.
Don't you ever realize that Mullah Omer aka Ameer-ul-Momineen of Islamist Jhanuum of Afghanistan took a panga with one of the biggest gangster aka super power aka empire, on the block?
Do you?
When Awghanis took panga, then the guys of the other party are over to play up the panga.
And
Who are we in the third country to tell the biggest gangster aka empire as to how it should treat the panga baaz, or perhaps Munda baaz Mullah Omer?
What do you have in your hand as a Pakistani, (except your ownself ;) ) to force American hand on the international table of cards?
If you got something then say it, otherwise follow the rules of the game.
The only two options Pakistan has are:
Stay neutral (and let Indians play aka support the USA 100% in Awghanistan, and thus lose our say in the matter)
Or support the USA 100% and keep our say (to whatever level possible) in the matters in our neighborhood.
There is NO fing third option that would result in Pakistan being safe and sound.
And many of you supporters of Mullah Omer, do in fact live in the West. So in some sense it may not matter to you as person.
But we the little ones who still live in Pakistan cannot go for the third option.
Bhai gurmin pehlay he bohot hai. Kiyon Bum phatwanay hain hum per? Just keep your Islamist views while enjoying thundi thudi kursian of the West.
Got it?
