Qouta should be applied to give chance to under privileged people otherwise you will just perpetuate the disadvantage of under served communities.
How much oppurtunities does governement provide to son of a poor peasant of interior Sindh compared to that of a clerk in Karachi? Can tehy have equal oppurtunity?
I am aware of this flawed argument very well.
The solution was not quota system as we know it promotes lazy, unskilled and unfit people to enter in to govt. machinery and other sectors.
This argument is is equivalent to letting everyone enter in to college regardless of what grades they get merely based on where they were born. We have seen disastorous results from this with lawlesslness and bloodshed by people who had good connection to powerful people for example let alone a halt in producing intelligent, skilled scientists, scholars, researchers etc.
Solution was to let everyone get good education by forcing sardars, waderas etc. to accept the importance of education.
Yes govt has responsibility to provisde equal opportunity to everyone.
As I mentioned, two major reasons for quota system to be bad for the country.
1- It discourages people to struggle for best.
2- It allows second class or even third class people to enter by backdoor into public service etc.
We should have learned from nations who are far advanced and they have merit system as the basis of any skilled job or good institution.
I am amazed to even have to explain this.
