Re: Mythological Creations

^ yes check my post on previous page.

Oh I saw that on tv!
Though visited ajmer several times never visited pushkar!
As you mentioned camel of stone I saw stones similar to betels near nagpur.its legend that hazrat farid was busy in ibadat there as the caravan of camel was passing by carrying betels.
So hazrat fariduddin asked the caravan leader what are you carrying he said stones and pebbles as he said hazrat fariduddin said tumhari zaban tumhe mubarak as he said that those camels immediately sat there and betels got converted to stones.
Then caravan leader asked for forgiveness.hazrat fariduddin asked him to bring grass on camels and asked him same question he replied sona chandi and that grass got converted to gold and silver.
If you visit that place you can find pebbles similar to betels there!

Re: Mythological Creations

Anyone hear about the legend of creation of dog connected with Satan?

Re: Mythological Creations

Ummm no.
But I have heard that dogs n donkeys can see Satan thats why they make noise.

Re: Mythological Creations

According to a tradition related on the authority of Ali b. Abi Taleb, when Adam and Eve were cast out of paradise, Satan came to the beasts of the earth and encouraged them with violent cries to attack and devour the couple; his spittle flew out of his mouth, and God fashioned a male and a female dog from it. The male was sent to guard Adam and the female to protect Eve. The enmity between the dog and wild animals was thus initiated.

Re: Mythological Creations

That actually is an interesting question. Depends on one’s faith. It is not about truth or fiction.

Re: Mythological Creations

Rightly said.

Re: Mythological Creations

And what does your faith say about this?

Re: Mythological Creations

To the best of my knowledge, there is significant room for interpretation in any faith. I know there is in my faith. Since you asked for my interpretation I will just say this - many mythological tales when taken in the proper context - teach us something positive.
