okay so I wanted to download mysql server. So went to their website, thinking you can just download it from there.. But no you need to be logged on. Ok, I already had an account, so logged on..
But no, they need to know who I am before I can download it now
so khair I filled in the missing fileds, and this was in the morning.. I am still waiting for it to get approved.
fine I could use an ealier version, which I should have somewhere saved or If I went to one of the other “sites”, I should be able to download it right away.. but why do they force us to do so?
I know, so why cant they automate the system? by checking the IP for the origin of request.
well they cant do, or even come near to that
I got the file from a different source
could have gotten it right away.. but just wanted to rant before I did so
well its not only MySQL, its Oracle or informix or SyBase etc .. all of them (paid or free) now require to login. Apart from Oracle I had problems with pretty much all of them to download stuff.
