For all you folks trying to get in shape, myfitnesspal is great. If you want to keep track of what you eat, especially if you find it hard to know what to eat and not eat. I am addicted to it. I am using their Android app. When I downloaded it, it asked me for my age, height, my current weight and my goal weight. It then calculates how many calories I should be eating in one day.
Living in a desi household, it was really hard for me to watch what I eat. And to eat healthy. This app has really helped me improve my diet.
You can either use their website or you can use their app. I love the app as I can add what I eat in real time. They have a huge food database including a ton of desi foods.
I agree..in the end this is just an estimation. You should listen to what your body is telling you. If you feel that you are constantly hungry then I guess increase your food intake, obviously eating healthy food. I always use one of the highest calorie option on myfitnesspal. It really made me realize that eventhough I am not eating a lot but most of my meals were high carb, high fat foods. You don't realize what you are putting in your body until you actually see it right there.
In myfitnesspal forums people say that you can eat back your exercise calories. For me, if I feel super hungry then I eat half of my exercise calories. What about you guys?
I can't find the forums on my phone app. Is it only available on the net?
KS09 the app doesn't have any link for forums. You have to use their website for that. They do have a FAQ section for the app though which answers most questions. Also, you can add friends so each of you can motivate each other.
I was on low-carb diet which i had customized for myself lol like i was taking carbs but not bread-(white and brown) no rice, no biscuits and no sugar. Calorie goal was 1200 which was too low but i had many failed attempts of losing weight before but this one worked for me. And yes, i was doing 15 minutes of excercise (squats, lunges etc) on my own and walking for 1 hour. I was using c25k app for running too 3 days a week(but no walk or excercise during these days). I was taking plenty of water during my diet.
