Hi guys!
Ok I’m still in Pak but I thought I’d write an update as I just got the broadband sorted at home.
I’m just going to keep it simple and tell you who I used and why. Although I live in F11 (Islamabad) I did all my shopping in Pindi because everything in Islamabad came to similar prices to UK so whats the point of coming pak?
I am a haggle queen by the way so I got alot of things very cheap.
Wedding invites:
Sigma Prints, Urdu Bazaar. 35 rupees for an invite with two inserts and a favour box. Bargain.
I know alot of people have said Sigma cards are a rip off but I dont know how you could shop anywhere else! The other shops are like tiny stalls. Nowhere to sit and its boiling hot. Sigma cards is a proper shop, theyve got fans/ac’s. We were able to calmly sit down and haggle. The customer service was good and we actually got a cheaper deal than the other smaller shops outside!
Dealt with a Zaheer.
Clothing:
Mohsins Sons Muree Road. Bridal dress 1 lakh rupees
Ok I went to FKG, Zari Palace and a few other bridal shops. I can tell you I felt so comfortable with Mohsin Sons the moment I stepped in. Theyre customer service is unbeatable, the quality of their clothes is amazing and their prices are reasonable. 1 lakh may seem like alot to some of you but I am having a full length gown made with a 1 foot trail. My bridal lengha has so much kaam on it I was expecting them to quote 2 lakh and above as most other boutiques.
Dealt with a Naveed. He was awesome in fact he got us discount on lots of other things we also bought their ie sherwanis, my jahaiz clothes.
Centre pieces:
China Market, Rawalpindi. 300 rupees per centre piece
I had been quoted 30 pounds per centre piece back in UK which me and hubby were not going to be able to comfortably afford. I didnt expect to find a solution for the centre pieces but when I went to China Market i was AMAZED at the beautiful floral centre pieces they were making. Theyre all fake flowers. I am personally so against fake flowers but I gave in because of how classy the arrangements were and of course the price!
Dealt with another Naveed. He knew we were taking it all abroad so he perfectly boxed all the centre pieces for us.
Jewelery:
Al Juwait Jewellers, Sarafa Bazaar. 4 lakh for all my bridal jewelery which included a very large choker, tikka, earrings, ring, punja and two karrey.
We went to a few shops and this guy gave the best exchange, selling and buying gold rate so we went with him. He was also patient unlike many other shops.
Right, thats me done for now! I will update with pics soon as I get them although my bridal dress is taking 2 months to make lol… xxxx
