Why not do your Mehndi venue, Flowers and decorations in peacock blue (or Royal Blue) with Gold, creme and some touches of Bottle green??? Still mughlay but very modern too. + all the girl will stand out right??

I think your should use regal colours for the mehndi decor - so deep purples, golds, emerald greens, and peacock as suggest above. The green will and peacock will give it that mehndi vibe.
Also for decor - have loads of lanterns, sheesha pipes, gao takia and mirrored cushions
Both my dresses are from my inlaws but I ordered my barat one will post the pictures inshallah I chose the kaam …kapra colour etc its a long shirt with sharara in red and valima one is light gold and rust i think

go for pale oilve green and biege..that would give a backdrop with moughal feel..yet would enhance your outfits..

mughal theme ..mostly ppl use for barat...u must ve village or arabic theeme for mehndi...........white stuff good look on walima.....bcoz it makes a romatic touch to couple n other ppl.....go for multi colours on mehndi....the colour which against ur out fits..but shud be complimnet.........
