my mehndi and rukhsati were set to be December 5th and 6th respectably in Lahore, Pakistan…and my valeema was scheduled to be on december 15th in Karachi.
I scheduled my flight to arrive in Karachi on November 1st so I could go with my in laws and make preparations for my valeema
we went to Rabi Center on Tariq road to select the colours and materials for the lehnga that I had designed… I needed net and jamawar for my lehnga..jamawar for my shirt and net and jamawar for my dupatta…once we had pyrchased the material we gave it to the shopkeeper for dying according to the colours of my choice.
a few days later we went to rabi center to collect the material for my lehnga and then went to instyle sarees (also located in rabi center) to select the “kaam” I wanted on my lehnga…once that was selected we gave them the material and the I gave him the drawings I had drawn to show what I wanted the lehnga to turn out to be… material, kaam, and sewing and stitching all together ended up costing about 70,000+ total (8,000 for the material, 60,000 for the kaam, 5,000 for stitching)… (please see picture for what lehnga turned out to be)
we have a tradition in our family that on rukhsati the set is from in laws and the bridal dress is from the girl’s family similarly the set on valeema is from the girl’s family and the bridal dress is from the in laws…
I had my makeup done by saba from sabs and went for the smokey eyes nude lips look
