OK, so where do I start? just got back this morning. Apart from the stressful change over at Doha the trip was absolutely FABULOUS! I just loved the HOT weather, the people and the atmosphere! I’m missing it already! I wasn’t expecting to see soo many pakistani/south asian people though, which I found really weired! The Bur dubai area is filled with pakis - really reminded me of pakistan!
BTW Doha Airport is really over crowded and small/boring…I will try and avoid Qatar stop over flights in the future!
Some of the places visited:
Jumeirah Beach
Creek Cruise
Dubai Museum
Shopping:
Burjuman (way too expensive!)
Lulu Centre (they have some good bargains)
Karama (shopping for the ladies)
Deira City Centre Mall (I loved this…the biggest shopping mall in Dubai)
Meena Bazaar (another good one for bargains)
Oh by the way the best part was spending my last bit of dirhams at the Dubai Duty Free Airport which I used to buy a watch, Fragrance, ornaments, chocolates etc, and some Arabic Music CDs (some names as reccommended by Mehnaz - thanks!)
Had to miss out the Desert Safari/Creek Park Cable Ride due to time…but will cover this the next time I go insha allah!
I’ll be posting some pics up later on …really sleepy at the moment..
** I’d like to thank all those guppies who participated in this thread and helping me plan this trip and making it successful!**
We had arranged hotel transfer with our travel agent and I was expecting a rusty old coach or something…but when we got out of the hotel we were shocked to see a lincoln town car! at this point we really felt like we were members of the royal family.
