My thoughts on a recent trip to KSA...

Re: My thoughts on a recent trip to KSA...

Therein lies the tragedy. The staggering amount of wealth and resources VS. the lack of self-sustainability, zero local industry, underdeveloped work ethic, stunted cultural and social progress speaks for itself. The potential to be a boon to the Ummah and to the region was limitless, yet they've squandered the opportunity for decades. Their saving grace being the self-styled custodians of Islam, to which they haven't done much justice.

Poorer countries seem to thrive better, making contributions to the world, despite being in dire straits both economically and politically. Makes you wonder.

Re: My thoughts on a recent trip to KSA...

**It already has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I thank you for that :) I salute you. When there was racism you could've told them easily about the last speech of Muhammad Mustafa (saw) where he advised the Ummah not to prefer Arabs over Non-Arabs. Anyway I'm not here to fight with you. Kindergarten times are gone. I know for sure that this is not the way to make things better.

Forgive me if I offended you in any way.

^ It never hurts to publicize any negative trend one comes across. And the publicity avenue can be any mode of communication - person to person, internet, etc. It need not be limited to just addressing it to the authorities. Doing this in no way negates the experience, it only has the potential to make future experiences better.

Above is true whether it deals with Hajj, visit to the Vatican or to Guruvayur.

Re: My thoughts on a recent trip to KSA...

Assalamo-Alaikum-Warahmatullah-Wabarakatahu,

So southie,

you want to make me believe that in Future it will become better? So let's go back 50 year and start from there. Has it made the Future in where we are Now better? Has it? The same old "Rituals" and "Practises"...It will not change until we address it there directly instead of running with a loudspeaker through the Village of GupShup. My opinion stands. If you say that the Future will become better, experiences like the OP made would've never happened. The technology has advanced indeed, but have the Human beings? They are already in the state of numbness before Muhammad Mustafa (saw) appeared. Sharing this @gupshup will not change this Habit a single bit.

Since 1400 years women are crying when they see the grave of Muhammad Mustafa (saw) and fall in a state of numbness as if Muhammad Mustafa (saw) was Allah (swt) the Alimighty himself nauzobillah. Who is teaching them? No one. They think it is absolutely normal, but this is Shirk. You do Shirk at the Holy Place and don't even recognize that? Now wonder the Ummat is in the state which it is right now. Blind and Numb. No wonder the OP experienced what the OP shared.

I have to add one thing. I'm attacking here no one. If anyone who feels offended shall study the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of Muhammad Mustafa (saw) himself/herself. Only if you study it for yourself you will be able to understand what I say. Deal with 3-4 million people or more each year and then come and tell me these stories. Thank You. It is so easy to say that the Saudis are like this and that. Look at your own country. Labeling others as Kafir and telling poor children to swear at this and this Person otherwise you'll be expelled from the school and if the Principal still allows this children to participate and learn, the Principal will be penalized.

Re: My thoughts on a recent trip to KSA...

Umm how is crying over the Prophet's grave = equating him to Allah (nauzubillah indeed) = shirk???

I was once googling the belongings of Prophet saw and it literally sent shivers down my spine seeing things that once belonged to him. I couldn't help but shed tears when I saw the remains of his house, his footprint, subhanAllah. A relative of mine saw Prophet (saw) in his dream and cried repeatedly over the next few days, he was that touched and emotional. This is what you call love and respect for Nabi saw, he has the highest darjaah among muslims. Sahaba karaam even preserved some of Prophet saw's nail clippings and hair, would you call that shirk too astaghfirullah? I wouldn't unless someone was worshipping him or his belongings which they clearly aren't if they firmly believe in the Kalimah. Hell of a difference between respect and worship.

And yes it is absolutely normal to cry over someone's grave, especially if that someone happens to be Prophet saw.

Re: My thoughts on a recent trip to KSA...

Bigboi,

I cannot comment on the religious aspects. However, you have applied circular logic. Just because in your opinion little progress has been made in last 50 years, it does not mean we should not take steps to make it better in the future.

The internet is a powerful medium to disseminate information. There is more than one way to address an issue - in your opinion, the only way is to bring it up with the authorities. I respectfully disagree.

On a positive note, the OP has shown (at least to me) that OP knows what it means to go on a spiritual journey - I wish I had OP's outlook and kindness to one and all as clearly expressed in one of OP's posts.

Assalamo-Alaikum-Warahmatullah-Wabarakatahu,

Did I say that we should not make steps to make the future better? Do you read what I write? I respectfully disagree with what you have said. Sharing these stories won't change the mind of the local authorities. The only way I see is to tell it someone directly. This is the only point I made. If I catch my Professor being wrong I go to him and tell him straight instead of sharing his fault with my fellow students over the students internet network or whatever you call it. Better he gets it from me instead of getting it from an other source. I as a Professor would feel betrayed.

@ BarbieCue

Please read between the lines next time. I did not say that crying is Shirk. I said that crying and then falling in a state of numbness is Shirk. Numbness > forgetting all and everything including Allah (swt). Thank You. Saving our Prophet Muhammad's (saw) nail clippings and hair. Can you explain me how this is not Shirk? Can anyone explain this to me? Open a new Thread. I heard that there is no Portray of Muhammad Mustafa (saw) available, because people would've started to worship him nauzobillah. You coming now with his hair and his nail clippings being saved goes according to my opinion in the direction as the one with the Portray. Don't you think so? If Muhammad Mustafa (saw) has allowed the Sahab's to do so then this is a different story. Can you explain please? Send me a pm if neccessary. Thank You.
