My Thoughts and Prayers with My Beloved Homeland

It’s an unusual tough emotional day with the lingering situation on the borders. I just didn’t know how else to feel close to my beloved homeland..

This is the panoramic view of Concordia: meeting point of Godwin Austin Glacier and the mighty Baltoro Glacier, place where K-2 makes its first appearance to the human eyes on the ground.

Thanks Jim, who ever you are ..you rock

I think I got a bit carried away in the moment..sorry..here is the description of all the mountains.

http://www.gupistan.com/gallery/1/concordia.jpg

This is a 360-degree panorama taken from Concordia. The snow-capped peak of K2 is seen to the right of center, just peaking about the clouds. Broad Peak is just to the right of K2. Mitre (6025 meters) Peak sticks about the frame of the photograph not because it is higher than K2, but because it was much closer to the camera. In order to make a panorama such as this, the camera must be level, which therefore cuts off any object that is closeby. So I added the tip of Mitre Peak from one of the single photographs. This is indeed as Galen Rowell described it: “The Throne Room of the Mountain Gods!”

justaju: Here are some stats from one of the websites. There is an interesting saying I have heard from friends; that humans have put more people in space than on top of K-2. I guess, that sums it all up that it ain’t just any other hike like Everest.
