I meant.. the larger public finds a lot of these actors and actresses attractive because they appear to be mixed.. whether u like it or not, theres a certain standard to beauty which happens to be the european model.. tall, light skinned etc.. i read in an article that u must be over 5’6" in order to compete in a beauty pageant.. meanwhile the average desi girl is 5’2" or so.. (hell ppl think im avg height, n im only 5’2"! ).. i hope u get what im saying..
as for the guys...both paki and indian guys are hot....look at the paki male models..yum yum...and the indian models...upen patel, dino...mmm!!
as for the chicas...i personally pakistani girls are more prettier than indian....sikh girls are pretty.....
but this is off topic..i totally agree with sara about the videos and such...i love the videos she spoke of....in fact i havent seen any good indian pop video ever..all the same...sluts sluts and more sluts.....
This actually puts the point thats more valid - In India the pop scene is not an area of focus at all - so all you have are remixes with yes as someone mentioned 'sluts'. And while Pakistanis certainly have made good music and videos - much popular in India as well (surprising? ), and Mahesh Bhatt camp has done a lot in getting those in the movies (hopefully in all cases acknowledging the source and payin them as well) - to take that as evidence to conclude that India virtually produces NOTHING is childish to say the least (Bollybuster comments are always to be ignored - too emotional to ever make a sensible comment - BB hates India and anythn about it ...so...)
As for movies being just too predictable...this would only come from someone who hasnt really been actively following bollywood - those who have, would know that one really cant say the same anymore.....
The average height for Pakistani girls is 5’4.8 In India it’s 5’1. Again i dont think indian actresses look mixed at all. They look more north indian as opposed to South Indian but North Indian/Pakistani looks reign supreme in the subcontinent.

My avgs go by everyday observations, do u have stats to back up urs? I fail to believe the avg height for paki grls is 5'4" coz every other grl i c here is 5'2" (with heels)
They did a study on heights of people around the world.
I live around indian punjabis(sikhs) and the average height of girls here is pretty tall. I'm 5'2 and easily the shortest brown girl my age. Since Pakistan's 50% punjabi it's pretty believable that the average female height is 5'4 or 5'5.
I dont know if it's true but someone told me that most of the Pakistanis in New York are muhajirs. Maybe that's why the people around you are short.
^ Well im in Lahore right now, and all the grls i c here are around my height, some less.. But yeah, for some reason, indian punjabis are a lot taller than avg desi grls, n they tend to be slimmer as well, at least frm what ive seen.. i wish i had their gud genes
the girls in my family are half half...im 5.5....im considered normal to tall in our family..i do have female cousins who are taller, and then some who are shorter....
i noticed that my cousins that were born and raised here in canada are the taller ones, and the ones that were born and raised in pakistan are shorter....

The shift of Indian pop singers/bands to the film industry is quite evident in recent years with the likes of Lucky Ali, Bombay Vikings, Shaan, even Sonu at one time was a huge pop singer before becoming a playback singer I think. They have gained popularity more thru their movie singing than their indept albums.
True...Indian pop scene was better when there were albums such as Deewana by Sonu and Lucky Ali and Shaan ( Tanha Dil etc) were as good in all sense as the current Pakistani output. Even now, we only get glimpses when a Sonu comes out with his Chanda ki doli album...
Hopefully the Indian Idols chaps will launch some album which will not be just remixes..
Till then, for music videos, Ali Zafar, Fuzon would help...
Sara I agree with some of what you wrote. There is just one thing that is bugging me, on one side you are criticising bollywood, on the other hand you watch them. I mean if you are so against them then why bother wasting 3 hours watching it.
Dusky, i don't really watch too many movies, bolly or holly..i watch maybe 2 bolly movies a yr and the ones I watch i happen to like and find they're good quality n stuff.. n plz dont think i watch any stupid movie to lust over dino or jon n abishek .. they're not worth the time n money :D
