Alright first things first, when you open the screen, do you move the mouse around or hit any random keys to wake it? Sometimes it needs to sense a movement to come out of hybernation. Hitting a key would do the trick.
Secondly, please be specific of the command it executes, so it's easier to pinpoint a possible problem, and then i'm sure one of the members can help ya out. (Make a screenshot and upload it on here if you can)
When did you notice this problem? If you can remember it started to happen recently after you might have installed a software, try doing a system restore to undo the changes made to system.
