When Iraq was invaded, I was completely shaken. I had predicted that the whole Arab world will be shocked and this will breed anger and American operation will not succeed. And today we are seeing the same thing happening. Ameriaca is now spending 2% of its annual GDP on Iraq war oepration. 2% of GDP means spending 2% of your whole created wealth in a year. This enormous money could have rather been directed towards brain research to achieve the goal what Americans want to accomplish.
Yes I am referring to the frequent American propoganda: “War On Terrorism”
I have an idea to suggest American people that the same money could have been spent on brain research to tackle the terrorism for ever. You may say that it’s a stupid and idiotic idea. But still I would request readers to have a patient look at what I want to say and just ponder over it and of course throw your opinion in this thread too.
All our emotions have a basis on brain chemicals. Our feelings of extreme joy, excitement and depression have a definite chemical basis and has been well proven by the recent research. Even the feeling of natural bond between parents and children and even within animals is due to those chemicals still unidentified by science. Now if we can identify those chemicals responsible for violent behaviour or fanaticism or things like that associated with the so called terrorism behaviour then scientist can block these brain chemicals by mass immunisation.
Remember we could eradicate small pox for ever by mass immunisation, the disease which used to wipe out villages after villages during ancient times. Then why can’t we apply the same idea for brain chemicals and block those brain chemicals which are threatening Americans. If the same funding which is being spent on Iraq operation would have been allocated for brain research then whole humanity would have benefitted.
My above idea may be stupid idea but I don’t mind to be called stupid. Let me see what the folk here thinks about my theory.
as it is a propaganda message, it is not true, Americans did not invade iraq because of terorism threat but because of oil supply interests
nice idea!
But so far the human brain is a very mystic research topic. I mean scientist despite many years of intense research are not able to treat efficiently a lot of psychic disorders. depression have lots of treatment but none of them are a “miracle” cure!
in addition it seems to me, the more I know about modern medicine and their chemical treatments, than those weapons against deaseases are the more dangerous, when they are the more efficient…in terms of side effects..
first they should define what is the trigger to terrorism. personally i don’t think it is a deasease, but just a “state of mind”, that is different from the mainstream morally aceptable behavior. thus my question is, how to treat terorism as it is not a deasease??
far from stupid, you have very interesting and intelligent questions! thank you very much for sharing!
Yes terrorism is not a disease. From one angle what looks like a “terrorism”, is nothing but a fight against “social injustice” or a “struggle for freedom” from another angle.
Yes Brain research is a very complex research and figuring out the effects of micro nutrients of the brain is indeed extremely difficult given the fact that each neuron in the brain has connections with thousands of other neurons. The brain itself is a collection of billions of neurons. We know only less than 5% of our brain chemistry despite several years of research. But it is undoubtedly an exciting research and if I had been in place of Mr. Bush then I would have given maximum funding to such research which bring benefits to the whole humanity.
Thanks for your appreciation and intelligent comment.
