My space, your space, our space

Describe yourself in a relationship - do you:

  1. Feel the need to do EVERYTHING together with your spouse/SO where you and your spouse are totally dependent on each other - can’t shop for kitchen towels without your partner present?

Or

  1. Do you need your space and independence, meaning you go out with your friends, go shopping alone, separate vacations?

Or

  1. A happy medium between the two extemes?

Re: My space, your space, our space

  • I go for my shopping
  • She go for her shopping
  • We go for our (kids, household etc) shopping

Even if we go together, there is no point for me wasting time outside (or inside) Le Chateau or NY Guard or Gap Women store. WE split and go to our own stores unless we are in store that covers everyone's need like Old Navy or Gap-All-In-One etc

If I am buying something for her as a gift or she is buying something for me then yeah we shop together.

Household shopping (furniture, decoration etc), we mostly do together.

3)

Speaking of how it was in the past.

Re: My space, your space, our space

Right now we're enjoying lots of our own space, so much so that we have yet to meet :/

Re: My space, your space, our space

3).. a little bit more towards 2) but we're happy like that.

Re: My space, your space, our space

2) except for the vacations. A day trip here or there but not like a major vacation.

There is way to much on the to do list. We would never get anything done if it was situation 1.

Re: My space, your space, our space

3 but a lot like 1. Don't judge.

Re: My space, your space, our space

but what about festivities and special occasions, do most of the people that picked "towards 2" do these separately too. I would find it hard to do that :(. I mean give me a thanksgiving or any gettogethers with family.....

visiting friends and doing shopping is totally a separate thing and can be done alone

Mi Casa es su Casa ...

A happy medium between both is the best way to go!

Re: My space, your space, our space

Never had this experience but my preference will definitely be 2. Staying together all the time and doing everything together spoils the relationship.
