he is 6 and just statred in first class, its an international school and he is kinda happy frm school ,friends and from teachers…the problem starts when he get back home from school and masjad, he always complains that he is bored…
cartoons, drawning , games nothing helps :o he lose interest quickly once things become routine and lacks of patience and consistency . i tried to talk with him many times about it but without any positive restult. we do give him enuff time , we talk a lot with him about different things and always try to get close to him but again after few mins he lose intrest in conversation.
any ideas how to deal with him and his booryiaat ?
oh well thats what I always complain about, "am bored"
probably my mom is asking her friends too for helping her out and must be tired of this "am bored" comment 24/7. :$
I am not 6, but usually am bored just because I dun have anyone to play with and no one is of my age whom I can talk to ... being the youngest one in family is such a disadvantage :(
why don't you send your son over at my place and both of us wouldn't be bored anymore... sachi :D
mehros aapi, us kee umar ke aur desi/musalaman bachay naheen hayn aas paas? us ko ghar se nikal ke un ke saath khelne k lyay encourage karein thora thora bilkul pyaar se..push na karein…
ya sat sun ko cricket waghera…
normal days mein shaam ko aur weekens pe bayshak kisi bhee wakt..
lekin i think thats very important..
mohallay mein naheen hae to take him to masjid, or discuss with other desi parents who have kids this age…
us ke ilawa, bas pe patient with him, dont get disheartened with him…give him time.. and he’ll come around inshallah…
khanay mein shaam ko us ke psand ke snacks bana dya karein kabhee kabhee…
aur bas..fikar na karein zaada
oh auk aur idea hay, kisi achay teacher se, who is gentle with kids and also a good teacher, aisay kisi teacher se tuitions rakhwa deyn us ke, jo us ko aram se pyar se parhayay...
studies mein bhee help ho jayay gi aur time bhee occupy ho jayay ga us ka evening mein jis mein wo bore hota hae..
i remember as kids we never had extra time, school se aa ke so jatay thay khana kha ke, shaam ko uth ke khelne jatay thay, maghrib kee azan pe waapas, phir molvi saab atay thay, phir parhai phir khana, more parhai and phir so jatay that...aglay din subha subara school...
zaada time hi naheen hota tha..

MehRos,
"Getting bored" is something all of us go thru. Some get bored faster than others. Its just a matter of getting used to, like anything else in life. Like take me for instance, I have had 5 whole careers and now I'm in computers, and I'm sometimes still bored (why do you think i'm posting stuff on GS? :-))
I'm sure its pretty frustrating for you, listening to that phrase all the time. My suggestion is to get him a long term project, like develop a family website. I know he's young, but that's the time to start this wonderful career. And maybe filter out "i'm bored" canter in your head.
