my skin dilemma :( come and share your skin routine

hi there everyone
im 23, with two kids and moved to US last year

i dont go out in the sun THAT much but right before ramadan i used to take out my kids for a walk everyday for like 15 days and now im left with a HORRIBLE TAN!!!
i used to have fairly light skin (atleast i was happy with it)
and no break outs even in my teens (except for one for two occasional spots nothing serious)
but now i have like pimples around my nose (not on cheeks though)
and when i get my eyebrows done DONT ASK!
my forehead breaks out like crazy

i think my skin is kind of uneven-toned now
i dont want to be exceptionally fair
i just wnt my old complexion back :frowning:
i know natural tans fade away (my face is alot better than my arms now) but its the sudden uneven tone and breakouts that bother me

gina, chanda_kh redvelvet i’d appreciate your help and any fellow gupians that can offer some help. i;d really appreciate it

i think my skin is normal to dry but now its more dry because of the central heating here which seems to dehydrate my skin
i dont use foundation at all so i can blame the break outs on any products
my current skin routine is
neutogena oil free acne wash
(st ives apricot scrub twice a week
and clean and clear moisturizer
clean and clear morning burst shower facial or queen juliep
mnt mask once a week

i never had a skin routine before, my skin was perfect i got complimented in it alot.i used to just wash it and used lubriderm lotion few times a week
now im very regular with my skin routine and my skin is the worse it has ever been

please help

Re: my skin dilemma :( come and share your skin routine

as we age our skin changes..and we cant really stick to the same routine we had in our teens :)

Diet is very important..and yes the climate does affect too..
I would get some salicylic acid for emergency use..especially for the times when the skin flares up.
get a 3% or a 15% one to mix a few drops in your cleanser. Keep the cleanser on for 5 min or so..while you brush your teeth..floss etc
(platinumskincare.com)

also monthly glycolic peels or any other you may wish..could even out your skin tone.
using sugar/salt scrubs 3 times a week ...taking proper supplements..vit c /b complex etc will also help repair the skin. Cutting sugar, oil and other junk is a given. Go on a low fat diet..saturated fat also exacerbates acne.

sunscreen is probably the most important part of your skincare routine. Invest in a good one..i prefer La roche and neutrogena..

Pm me for more! :)

thanks chanda :)
the moisturizer i use contains salicylic acid i have use the neutrogena on the spot acne treatment which contains salicylic acid.
what are glycolic peels? are they safe to use? can they be done at home do you ave to get the professionally??
another question
my i dont pick my pimples. i just pop the nasty yellow ones and put anti biotic cream on them so thankfully i dont habe any bumps or dent sort of scars. i mean the skin is even BUT they do leave a brown smooth spot
is there any way to help them fade?
