pls share some tips and designs on how to do silk painting and fabric painting...would love to learn from you... where do you set up ur fabric and all that ...

first u have to select ur design, try to choose those designs that r not very small.

u need silk, silk colors(i use seta silk.....marabo) n most imp. Gutta.....for outline.its must coz it stops ur color to spread out.so b careful abt gutta if ur gutta is weak or thin layer so in this case colour can also break ur gutta boundaries.for this problem dont apply colour directly on ur fabric. first fill ur design wid water if it is not leaking then start coloring.

fabric can b shiffon ,medium silk, hamoz silk or whatever. but all types need different water filling.(some fabrics dry very soon just like 60gm shiffon and some dries slowly like medium silk)

u need an Adda (frame) so u can easily hold ur fabric and can apply all colours on all fabric at one time coz small patterns can b made by small round frames but for salt techniques u have to b careful.
salt technique usually for backgound...just fill ur fabric with colour and drop some salt on wet fabric. the result will b supeb after it becomes dry. u can also use our normal kitchen salt for it.

instead of gutta u can use wax or transparent shampoo.

flat brush is used for shading.first fill ur design with water then apply the color u want but b quick if the colour dries and couldn't fill color it will leave a bad effect of cracks. so b careful n fast...

i used seta silk paint or u can use any of fabric water color. coz silk color are just like normal water color.n application is also same like that ...means Galti ka koi chance nahi.....

after applying color when design is completed ..press ur cloth from back side.

color is fast but can come out only at first wash...

n u know silk cloths r mostly dry cleans.

iron is must for fixing colors
