My review of the LG Nexus 5

  • Nice looking thing, definitely prettier than the N4 but not quite at sleek as the Galaxy 4.
  • I have the black. Nice matte back. Not sure how it’s going to do with fingerprints.
  • Lock and volume buttons are made of ceramic. Supposed to be an LG special towards durability.
  • Again, no home button which is a problem for me but N4 users are pretty OK with it.
  • Excellent display. You guys all know the specs, so we can’t really go wrong here.
  • But then when I put it right next to my S4, naah, not quite there yet.

SO for $350, if you’re looking for a high-end smartphone, this could be it. But if you’re the kind of person who needs more control, then I guess we move on.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

Hi

Have you Compared the LG G2 with the S4, you ll be surprise. I was so i ditched the S4 and went for the LG. :)

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

^^ Yes I have :)

I still like my S4. But yes, the G2 has a few more advantages over the Nexus 5.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

Nexus gives you much more control than galaxy, not having to deal with crappy touchwiz. Also there is no memory card slot. It's pure android. You'll get the latest version before anyone else. For the buttons part, you get what you pay for. Galaxy S4 is a high end $500+ phone and I don't think it's a fair comparison.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

^^ I agree it isn't a fair competition and I was truly trying to avoid doing that.

TouchWiz can be replaced tho. But that's for a different thread.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

How is the battery life?

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

Could be better is what I hear. Haven't experienced a full battery cycle as of yet.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

From what I have heard the battery life in Note 3 is the best so far. I just don't like the dull UI of Nexus series.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

Dull is the right word Joel. Again, trying not to compare with other phones, but for $350, it's not too bad.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

True but thats not the only issue. The major issue is not having a micro SD card slot. I could like with the UI or change it myself but I cant do anything about a missing SD card slot. Limits what I can do with a phone.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

It has the same battery capacity as Nexus 4, 2300 mAh i believe.

Re: My review of the LG Nexus 5

Yep. You are right.
