but i cant wait to go to pakistan for all the pret-a-porter stuff...where in pakistan can you find good..and i mean really good fabric..??

Re: My recent Fabric Spree

thanks everyone....i ll be sending them to pakistan..to have them made..but 3-4 at a time..i dont want them to lose or misplace my material..that will be just terrible...!!

Re: My recent Fabric Spree

love the firozi sari chanda. And the Kundan you mentioned, is it the one in karachi or did you get it from India. A married student of mine suggested I go to Kundan ( they have a branch near Metropole Hotel and another at Zamzama) if I need good saris. So guess I'll be paying a visit there soon.

I love chiffon and we have a couple of relatively new shops selling gorgeous embroidered chiffons and georgetts here. They are a bit pricey though but the kaam is really worth it.

Re: My recent Fabric Spree

Re: My recent Fabric Spree

Kundan in Lahore...they are pricey...but have beautiful designs...Fantasia boutique has similar stuff...but i am not sure of the exact address...they are both in Lahore though.

and its good to have heavy and light saris.... :) love banarsi and chiffon!! i got a nice lace one too...will have it embellished with diamonties...beads and dabka/sitara....

Re: My recent Fabric Spree

thanks dushwari!! i cant shop without mom though... :)
well...not sure how much altogether...but the fancy fabric (laces etc)runs from $150-$300 and do go up to $500 per yard...depending on the heaviness of the kaam..
saris are anywhere from $200-$800..
zari fabric is around $80-$150 per yard
