I agree about the farishtay thing, dogs must not be kept inside the house :nono: I mean how can 1 even pray in a house that has a napaak dog lurking about.

Yea there are hadith about how dogs shouldn’t be kept in the house. I’ve never read anything about just having a dog as a pet, though.

But anyways, this isn’t the Religion forum (otherwise I wouldn’t be here. :halo: )…

Who actually specifically said dogs were haraam anyways?....they are napaak (unclean)....but not haraam....unless u were referrin to a "karai kutta" curry LMAO....cos that sure as hell would be haraam...

Exactly…some friggin people even have their dogs eating out of the same plates! what the hell is that all about??? I think for security purposes you can probably keep a dog…as long as it is away from the main house…but like allowing the dog to sleep in your bed and stuff like that…well that just ain’t on!

Technically, according to Maliki fiqh dogs are not napaak at all, even their saliva is pure.

Shafi and Hanbali fiqhs state that the whole of a dog is napaak, if its fur.

Hanafi fiqh states that the saliva of a dog in napaak but its fur is pure

fur or saliva pak or napak..I don't know. But what I know is that they have very nasty habits . Everytime I went to pet strores to checkup on cats, I saw dogs or puppies eating and playing with their own poo....ewww.
Neverthless, some dogs doo look cute.

i agree with you kazi....dogs are indeed useful in many ways....guard dogs, for the blind, and cop dogs lol or whatever u call em.

but yea....i certaintly wouldnt want a dog to replace my children or be my best friend like some claim. nonetheless it's Allah's creation and should be appreciated . :)

ok NOW someone said they are...which is wrong cuz they arent..there is a different b/w being napaak and haram. if thats the case woman would be considered haram when on their periods. :)
