take advantage of the fact that you have plenty of time still and send it back to pak. it will be very difficult for someone else to alter a heavy lehnga if they don't specialize in bridals etc. send it back to the person who made it and they will probably be able to fix it or make you new one very easily. if you've got no one coming or going simply ship the bottom part/skirt back. it won't be too expensive to mail since the dupatta is usually the heaviest part and you only need to send the skirt back.
