I have been using the following combinations for hair wash:
dry amla (gooseberry) powder
dry reetha (soapnut) powder
dry sikakai(acacia something something…) powder
hibiscus flower powder, I am hoping to use the dried leaves too
All these powders should be very fine, I use about half teaspoon each, (depending on lenght and thckness of the hair)
I make a paste and then rub it in my hair like shampoo, it leather a bit because of soapnut and hibiscus flower. I am able to wash out the oil from my hair too. It has been wonderfull. it doesn’t strip hair off natural oils, so may hair has been more curly, which I like, ans has nice body to it. In terms of hair fall I will be honest I haven’t seem a huge difference yet, but hopefully with time that will change.
If I use too much of this powder mix. my hair tend to get as bit dry like shampoo dries out hair but if I add few drops of argan oil to my hair it shines and bounces like crazy…
Re: My new hair wash blend, haven't used shampoo for about a month now
to stop hairfall, simply use olive oil ... a step further .. go ahead and mix a bit of garlic powder in it .. don't like the smell? .. crush in an MSM tablet instead. within 2 weeks you'll see a difference inshallah!

MSM?
And farrah any tips to thicken hair?
MSM is a sulfur compound that will increase blood flow to your scalp. you can get it from a health store where you buy your regular multivitmanis.
for hair thickening i've been using an avocado mask ... has really helped. first i thoroughly massage coconut oil+ a bit of castor oil in my hair with a biotin tablet and garlic powder crushed in it. then apply the mask and leave it on for 1 - 2 hours.
the mask is made of:
1 avocado
1 egg
a tablespoon of aloe vera
2 tablespoon yogurt
1 tablespoon of lemon juice or balsamic vinegar
mix this up really well and apply to you hair like you'd apply hair color.
p.s. may i add, i have between wavy and curly hair, so the lengths of my hair are pretty dry while the roots tend to be greasy. this mask provides excellent conditioning and leaves hair very soft.

Eat more nutritious foods that contain hair-growing minerals and vitamins. you need certain vitamins for healthy growth functions in the body, but you also need some for the healthy growth of your hair. All vitamins do not benefit the growth of your hair. Go for the use of biotin, vitamin B, vitamin C, and even ginkgo biloba as an aid to restoring the natural growth of your hair.

lol .. teelo .. balsamic vinegar isnt a must ... as i said you can use this OR lemon juice ... so if you dont already have it in your house, you can use lemon juice.
castor oil .. walk into any indian or african store
and aloe vera ... any health store should be selling it.
Re: My new hair wash blend, haven't used shampoo for about a month now
and get a nice soft avocado...I find the harder ones are hard to mash, in my unexperienced days I bought few hard ones and had to use food processor to make a paste..just press the avocado araam se if it dents a bit then it is a soft one.
In india (atleast in south) ppl drink avocade shake, when I see them drinking that I imagine them pouring some on their heads :D
