after about two years of searching for a perfect match i finally found a foundation that is close enough to my real skin tone. it’s dermablend smooth indulgence and the color is caramel beige.
since dermablend is actually supposed to be for people with skin problems such as scars, acne and other stuff like that this foundation is extremely pigmented. hardly touching the foundation gives amazing coverage. thank god i don’t have any acne or scars on my face so really i don’t need much.
when i applied it in the ulta (makeup store) it looked perfect, but when i bought it and tried it at home i wasn’t too happy because i think i applied it a bit too much. next time when i put it on i tried using less and it looked nice.
but i guess this makeup is for parties only, i can’t wear it to college because it looks like i am wearing makeup. i don’t want to look like that but the problem is that i haven’t found any other foundation which matches my face so i have to deal with it.
when ever i try a foundation i always take a picture of my face to see how it would look in photos. this foundation looks amazing in photos if the flash is not on, but if i turn the flash on my face looks white
i wonder if i can fix this problem by applying something over the foundation. any ideas???
anyways i think it’s a great products. since i don’t wear foundations on daily bases i think i can deal with the makeup-y look for parties (i don’t really have a choice )
my friend who has a much lighter complexion than me also bought it a week ago and she also loves it. she doesn’t think it gives her that makeupy look i am complaining about because her color with is nude beige matches her skin tone even better than the caramel beige which is the one i bought.
u can always try using a bronzer over the foundation and then take a pic. See if that helps with the white ghostly look. I find that whenever I wear bronzer this corrects that problem.
is it liquid? if yes try putting lil on palms of ur hand rub them lightly and then put ur hands on ur face pressing gently. or let the foundation absorb in skin for like 15-20 mins and then take off excess by using light damp sponge. this gives a natural touch too.
i thought of using a bronzer too, but i do not own any currently so i might have to go get one. any advice on which one to try???
yes mabrook it is liquid, i will try your trick too, but yesterday i put it on just for fun and even after 3 hours the foundation didn t soak in, it was still on my face, but i will try wipping the excess off to see if that solve the problem.
Bronzer can go so wrong (I do love it when it's done proeprly though) and it won't help with flash photography.
How do you apply? I would use a flat, synthetic foundation brush and use the tiniest bit and really blend it all over (like a tiny dot for one cheek, then move onto the next) etc etc. Using a sponge or fingers will make it too thick.
The coverage needs to be really sheer in application. Following that, a good powder is a must, it will set the foundation, make it look even (since you are applying sheer it may be a little uneven) and should help with the photography.
