both my mothers are not well

my biological mother has arthritis…its been almost 10 years now …n now she is not able to do anything with her hands …n her right arm doesn’t move but just a bit !..she is 48 .

then there is my mother in law…she has arthritis for last 16-17 years…she is a patient of hypertension too …n now she is diagnosed with diabetes…!she is 57

its hard , really hard to see your loved ones in that condition …n i don’t want to just sit there n see how they r suffering …i want to help them
my own mother is a bit better as she has her daughters to take care of all household …she just supervises …n its ok in the sense that her diet is ok

OK, the disclaimer part first. I'm no doctor, so please speak to one for further information.

Generally the most doctors will prescribe for arthiritis will be to excercise and possibly change diet. Rarely will they go further than that. But if you are living in the west there's alot to be said for the use of alternative or complimentary medicine, with your GP's consultation of course. Now I am no authority and I am just repeating what I once saw on TV and read somewhere online, but apparently you can 'cure' arthiritis or at least reduce the pain and swelling of the joints significantly by bee sting. Just make sure the patient isn't allergic to such stings. I am not sure how the added complications of diabetes and hypertension would affect the treatment.

I suggest you read up and reasearch on this treatment further. Speak to the people who give this treatment, who have had the treatment and most importantly don't do it without the permission of your doctor. And never trust any self proclaimed hakeem to get anything right.

A quick websearch and I got the following sites, which I think provide some good information. Print some out and take it along to show your doctor.

Apitherapy is what the bee sting treatment is called.

Natural treatments for arthiritis

Because I’m such a fan of cod liver oil, I just have to use every opportunity to plug the supplement. These are very useful in helping maintain supple joints. If you don’t try anything else, this is an absolute must for your mums. You don’t even have to ask a doctor to take these!

awwww...for your mother in law - you can spend more time w/ her. Maybe buy fruits for her and make her eat fresh fruits. Take her to her relatives' homes when you go visit them and that would be a bit of 'exercise'

For your mum - spend time w/ her too :)

Afia bajii  :flower1: That’s soo kind and caring of you to think for them…

Well you might wanna give your MIL massage w/ oil while you’re there. Make them walk and more walk (my mom has arthritis and her doc told her that best medicine is to walk!) . Also, you could take some good OTC medicines/creams for them that aren’t available in Pakistan. And I guess best thing you can do is pray for them.

May Allah give both of them shifa…amen!

I think what your doing is so good, wouldnt it be great if more people treated their parents and Mother in laws like this. I hope your own daughters and daughter in laws treat you the same way :insha:.

All I can say is make Dua, try and do everything they say, and keep em in a happy mood.

many many thanks to all …n specially XTC…:flower2:

i wrote a looong reply but somehow it got deleted …:frowning:

anyway …i really appreciate your help n that you all really could spare sometime for me …thanks for prayers …! :flower2:

You're welcome Afia. I hope the information was somewhat helpful.
