Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

probably will still taste good :)

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

Make nihari. By adding gound raosted suanf and zeera and then some flour.

Make Nihari? Hmm...but my nihari will not go down with my in laws - i know they will reject it! Esp if i make it with that mash!

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

start over, use the mash to make something else, haleem? filling for samosas?

or freeze it and eat it later (on your own) :)

Either puree it in a blender with water, then boil it and add lemon juice and extra seasonings to make soup. Right at the end add shredded cabbage, green chilli and some diced carrots to make it look nicer.

Or boil it with lentils and barley to make Haleem with laziza or shaan masala.

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

Turning it into haleem is the best alternative.

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

Havent made Haleem before and im too scared to as well - will prob have it for myself as a soup with salad...

Make shaami kabab..

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

or throw in some uncooked boti, and pressure cook again, shud be full of flavour with meaty gravy.

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

You can make lasagna with it or make pasta or make daal or some sabzi in it or maybe pot pie.... you can do so many things with it. Just be creative!

She already has lot of meat, why add more meat.

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

kabab?

the meats all turned to mush.... thats her main complaint

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

Yes the meat has turned into mush and i can c some hadiyan(bones) but thank God my mil said we'll have it for dinner with daal chawal - hmmmm - now must persuade hubby to have it!

Jias - shami kebab is impossible as there is alot of gravy and oil like you would find in a normal salan.

Im thinking maybe i can add aloo and unday in it...to make it seem like a normal salan...

OMG when will this salan get finished , how much did you make ? It is still there for last two days. Do you have a incinerator or garbage disposal in your kitchen sink ? I guess not otherwise it would have gone by now.

Hmmmmm i was thinking that as well...hehe...you meany!

I cooked it on monday evening for yesterday's dinner - hopefully it will be resting in our stomach by tonight inshallah .....mwahahahahahah (evil cackle)

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

Why would your in-laws reject nihari?

Re: My mashed up botiyan wala salan!

Haleem was definitely a good option.

Anyway, regardless of appearance, I'm sure it's tasty!

RH - because my mil’s nihari is very popular with everyone!

Sahar - it was tasty AH - Mil enjoyed it only because the botiyan were very soft and she was able to eat it easily…Alhumdullilah - case close!!:shoaby:
