do you have a slow connection?
There are some settings that you can change to decrease any interference to the wifi. First of all, disable ipv6 to local only in network settings and in bluetooth, disable the ability to detect keyboards and mice if you aren't using external ones. It helped me a lot as bluetooth interference would slow my computer to a crawl when a lot of people were around my mac at school. It is a known frequency interference issue.
