My little "oopie" growing up :(

My 7 yr old lost his top front tooth in school today :frowning: I mean, literally, it came out and he lost it. I spent quite some time scouring the hall where he lost it to see if we could find it and no luck. That doesnt matter so much as MY GOODNESS he doesnt look the same!!! He’s growing up!! He looks SO very funny without his tooth!

I guess I’m kind of a wuss. My heart is aching over this whole thing.

Re: My little "oopie" growing up :(

it happens when kids reach some milestones .... we want them to stay young forever don't we?

Re: My little “oopie” growing up :frowning:

Awwwwwww! :hugz:

Re: My little "oopie" growing up :(

too bad he lost it......now what's tooth fairy gonna do?

Re: My little "oopie" growing up :(

awwwwww thats a whole 'nuther story. The school nurse gave him this tiny little tooth container, shaped like a molar (its ADORABLE), on a string around his neck. There's no tooth in it but I told him we could put that under his pillow and the tooth fairy would understand and she would go to his school and find his tooth.

Sheesh, he is expecting a "7-money" cause he's 7 years old (when he was 5 and lost his first tooth, he got a 5 dollar bill.) Man-o-man, I got a quarter when I lost a tooth and that was treasure! lol but a quarter used to buy a candy bar. A "7-money" tho, thats pushing it man.

Re: My little "oopie" growing up :(

Aww that's so cute. Yeah its all part of growing up, but I understand your sentiments. My son is just turning 18 months, and time flew so fast!! He is such a character, its amazing.

Awwwwwwww

Well, my son lost front two at the same time, i still do not look at his photos without the front two teeth.

And he seemed to take ages to grow them back.

Re: My little “oopie” growing up :frowning:

He must be looking cute

btw do u think its ok to tell our children about tooth fairy and santa clause, cauz after all its a myth and not true. Its kinda lying to them. Isn’t it …

Don’t hate me for that … just a thought :bummer:

he is growing up...mashAllah...
ur getting old...hye Allah...

Re: My little "oopie" growing up :(

mamaof3

you can share this interesting book with him…please read the reviews.

namaan

as long as children know it’s a myth or a story i think it’s fine.

Sis my point was that you can’t just tell them about tooth fairy and that she will bring him the tooth and yada yada yada … and after some time we tell them sorry son but whatever i just told u was just not true … means i don’t think so we can do that … can we ?

Re: My little "oopie" growing up :(

what!!!
break some one else's tooth and put under his pillow.
Put back tooth fairy in the business.

Re: My little "oopie" growing up :(

The thing is to tell them the right way when they're old enough and to let them enjoy the magic when they're young enough.

Santa Claus, he is "the spirit of Christmas", the spirit of giving, of family and friends and enjoyment of life. He lives in the hearts of every person. So YES there IS a Santa Claus. He lives in your heart. And its pretty much the same with the tooth fairy...she is really Mom and Dad but her spirit inspires us to do what we do - putting the tooth under the pillow and leaving money instead.

Some see these things as lies. I personally see them as lending some magic to childhood...thats certainly how I saw them as a child...magic. And to have that time, where MAGIC really existed was a treat that I really, really want my children to have. And when they're old enough to understand, I think and hope that they will see it as I did - not as a lie but as having a parent who cared so very much that they did all this to add a bit of magic to their younger years.

Re: My little "oopie" growing up :(

an you magically sugar coated the whole thing :D

Yes I agree....but the thing is...its NICE to have a childhood coated in magic, yeah?
