Right now I am a kind of re organizing my kitchen cabinets. I have a large cabinet over the benchtop. Attached are pics. The lowest shelf I use is for my stand mixer as i use it very frequently around 3-4 times a week and toaster. Some daily items like ketchup, mayonnaise and ovaltine are also stacked there. However the middle shelf I was using it for all the baking needs in it, Plain flour, rice flour, coco powder, sugar, Milk powder etc but im thinking to shift all that baking needs to another top shelf and bring my daily use plates glasses and mugs in it.
I need your suggestions, what u think is best use of this cabinet? Should I let it remain the cabinet for baking needs or should i bring daily use plates here. This cabinet is most convenient one in my kitchen.
Looking forward for replies
The kitchen is not too big, I have coffee machine electric kettle, benchtop water dispenser and microwave on counter so dont want anything more there. This is rented house and there is no such pantry in ktichen itself, its in hallway where i store the packed things and its hassle to go there and get the opened things all the times
Surely plates should be on the first shelf, not your mixer and toaster: plates get used every day - and several times a day at that! If they are your every day plates I’d put them on the first shelf; second shelf your mixer and toaster, 3rd shelf all your baking stuff and 4th shelf leave as it is.
I used to have my dinner plates, bowls, side plates and everything else all piled on top of each other it was a real hassle getting them out. With this you can organise your plates better.
Thanks for suggestions nnabid, however I cant put my mixer on middle shelf as it too heavy it can only be in the lower one. I have now already arranged things getting disappointed from GS members. I never got much help when needed.
