What do i do???
He’s almost 3 yrs old, he suddenly stopped drinking milk 2 months ago. For no obvious reason. He used to love milk and now he just smells the milk and goes Nahin peeni
I have tried giving him yogurt, but he doesnt take it anymore
I have tried kheer waghaira but he doesnt seem to like it much
I have tried milk shake/ flavored milk but nothing is working.
I tried giving him doodh pati magar no use
I am really worried about him because the doctor said that at this age he should be consuming 4 cups of milk every day. magar ye to aik ghoont peenay ko tayar nahin.
I was told when children aren't babies anymore, two full glasses of milk a day are enough.
I have the same problem with my children. Sometimes they do drink it,but mostly they don't empty their glass of milk.
Perhaps you could try putting chocolate powder in it, they sell chocolate powder with different vitamins and stuff in it. Hope that helps him. It did wonders with my children.
Sometimes it's not what they eat or drink but HOW they consume it. My daughter used to refuse bananas until I started cutting them and calling them 'banana wheels', we'd also put some sprinkles on them. If your son doesn't drink milk or chocolate milk, then try having him help you prepare a snack. Have him pour the milk and the syrup, pick a straw himself, with your help. Pretend he's a customer at a restaurant or he's the chef. This sort of play gives kids a chance to try something again with a sense of fun.
Have you tried yogurt tubes? My daughter loves them because they're fun to eat. You can also freeze them and eat frozen. He can get calcium from many other food sources but I'm guessing green veggies may not be his favorite. How about string cheese or brocolli with cheese on it. Lasagne, orange juice? Even if he refuses milk now, he'll probably like it again later. So don't force it on him, but offer it as well as other calcium rich food sources. Good luck.
Saima, hmm i dont know if the yogurt tubes are available here...
Thanks it seems a good idea to play a pretend game with him. Oh he loves veggies, he's a big fan of spinach, bhindi and all the veggies.
If he used to love milk, then he might just be going through a phase and may well return to drinking it down the road…most pediatricians say try not to force children into good food/drink habits…if u’re worried about him not getting enough calcium, then u can give him orange juices that have calcium added in them…toddlers btwn 2-3 years shud get about 16-24 ounces of milk everyday and also he shud be drinking from a cup by now if he hasn’t started to already…i agree with saimanyc…it helps a lot if u let kids do things by themselves, for eg.) eating with knife/fork and from a special or favourite cup and straws…and by mixing and matching his tastes and even playing “chef” games…good luck and try not to worry

My God, you’re right!
I’ve just tried giving my children milk without the chocolate powder added by pretending we’re on a picknick and we forgot the drinks, so we ran into a cow (which was actually a huge pillow ) and we got two buckets of milk (read two glasses of milk) out of the cow and finally they could have a drink. They emptied the whole glass without any trouble!
sadya :D i hope this works with my son... the problem is when he says NO, he means it :( no matter what i do.. khair will try pretending with him. Koi pata nahin saara doodh mujhay hi peena par jaey :(
Fabulous: he doest get allergic but he just says no to milk.. I had been a very bad child in this regard myself... now i realize how my mother felt when i was like him. :(
I dont think i ever drank milk ever since my mom stoped feeding me which was back when i was like one yr or osmething and trust me I lived :p he will be fine but u might wanna give em some sort of calcium.
^^ but dude.. from what i can make your image of, you are SKINNY.. no?
sadaf, see if you can find some inspiration for milk for him.. i loved milk and about the same age as u mentioned, i started running away from it too :-) until now that i regained my liking for the taste..now i drink it without sugar/additives..
try ure luck with custard! Or try sweet rice pudding, omitting the ilaichis! What about homemade ice creams in yummy flavours, all kids love ice cream :)
