my inheritance

I wasnt sure where to post this so sorry if its in the wrong forum.

My father left us some land in Pakistan and I want to sell my share. How do I go about his and what about my brothers and sisters can they object?
They dont want to buy it off me so can I sell it to someone else?
Do I need to go to pakistan in order to do this?
Please help.
Thanks

Re: my inheritance

i dont know the whole process but you would definitely have to go to pakistan and meet up with people. Nothing in pakistan can be done without bribery and the land business is even more tangled up. Its a big mess really. Don't believe any laws or regulations u might read on government websites, the actual system doesn't operate under any of those laws. I know a couple of people in pakistan had a really hard time with the land department. I wish you good luck in sorting this out, God knows you'r gonna need it.

Re: my inheritance

It took me more than eight months to sort out some land in Pakistan, that we inherited from our father. Trust me - it may not be so easy as it may be looking particularly if its agriculture land. Plus if its shared - ur siblings may have to decide few things too - so plan everything before u just head to Pakistan.

Re: my inheritance

HHHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH... I have never laughed sooo much.

First of all Najim.

1 I hope the land has not been already taken by someone and sold 4 times over, i.e if he/she knows you reside outside the country.

  1. You have to come to Pakistan for this transaction to take Place.

  2. If people know that you are coming from abroad they will quote you extremely subsidized rates for selling the land, so that the can make allot the money.

  3. If the land has not already been squatted upon, or being sold 5 times over, then your best bet is meeting the “Patwari”.

  4. The fifth point is connected to the 4th point, when the “patwari” comes to know its your land and “You live Broad” he will ask for a heavy bribe for any sort of mutilation on your land. You BLAHDY well will have to pay him.

In essence 3 to 4 meals in Pearl continental, sareena, Avari and Hilton , plus AT LEAST 20000 to 100000 ruppees (depending on the size and value of the land) in the PATWARIS pocket will get things done.THAT IS THE NORM ALL OVER PAKISTAN.

Now if you are Islamic and don’t want to give bribe, get it in your head/skull.

“* ** NO ONE SELLS OR BUYS LAND IN PAKISTAN WITHOUT A BRIBE TO THE PATWARI< NOT EVEN THE PRESIDENT***”

I think that’s enough if you want more info message me.
