TRD may be a Pakistan-basher. There are many posts to prove his "loyalty".
However it is unfair to attak him on this post. He said it right.
UK Pakistanis are getting into an Afro-Arab mentality of ghetto-ization. Look at this case of Shabina Begum suing the Lutan school system. And for What? Wearing a Julbab? hahah.
This UPite girl needs to check what her grandmother was wearing back home and what was the meaning of Julbab. I bet her grandmother was more familiar with the term "julab".
Copying the ways of morally and socially bankrupt regions in Africa or Middle East is simply a hight of ignorance.
One of the many reasons for European successes back in the 1500s were that they copied Ottomans. Graduation gowns and mortar with tassel is a Turkish tradition.
Even now Europeans are proud to see their sons and daughters wearing that Turkish dress during graduation ceremonies.
Pakistani-Muslims however loath to follow the ways of successful nations. We are hell bent on following those who were dirt poor back when Ottomans ruled the world, and we still want to follow the goat herders of the Middle East.
This is nothing but ghetto mentality being forced on the UK-Pakistani youth. This is precisely why we saw London bombers, and now we see more youth in the court under terrorism charges.
Sad utterly sad.
