Day after day, as I walk in the park
My friend, is faithfully there to greet me
Standing so tall, I gaze up at his features
Which have such a strong brow and chin
Silently he waits, as I tell of my day
And pour my heart out to him
I can sit for hours with my dear friend
Sharing my secrets and dreams
His shadow is over me, by the time I am done
And I must bid farewell for the day
I’m not saddened by leaving, but happy at knowing
My friend will always be there
Standing so tall, in the middle of the park
Keeping a watchful eye
I’ll be back tomorrow, to sit with my friend
And tell of my day gone by
