Attempted doll lashes yesterday:
They’re supposed to be darker right?

I have a neutral shadow on...I think it was naked by UD or something, light brown eyeliner and I used Loreal's Voluminous Million Lashes. No fakes.

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.
Updated attempts with better lighting and some darker colors rather than the lighter ones that weren’t showing up:
Unfinished peacock eye that I abandoned in the middle because I wasn’t sure how to end it. Should I have taken it up with a gold color?

I need input
Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.
I really think you need to start working with matte shades. Shimmer should generally be confined to the browbone and lid (and mainly just the middle and inner corner). Like I’m not really sure why there is so much heavy gold in the crease/just above in the first pic. Whatever you did on the outer corner needs to come inwards a bit for completion.
Also for lining the lower lashine, generally the outer 2/3 should be dark and just the inner 1/3 light, and then I would also put that shade a little in the inner corner to complete it. I think it would also look neater if you used a flat angled or square eyeliner brush to apply. The technique is press and drag just a little, then pick up more colour, but it will give you a sharper, neater line.
I think try to find some simple looks that you can replicate well and use them to practice getting your technique neat and how to shade the outer V/crease in the right way for you.

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.
Excuse the bad photoshop and I used this pic as I think it was easier to show using this one, but I think your crease shading should follow this kind of line (it can extend up a bit, evenly along it). I might be wrong though so maybe someone else can advise further.
Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.
No no, its not bad at all. I see what you mean too. I am going to try the gold tomorrow with a matte color this time. I'll post what I do.
I ordered a matte palette by the way...finally...lol
Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.
Reha, pleaseeee take pics with a digital camera! it's really difficult to judge and see the true color and shading with cell phone pics

Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.

YES! Your blending skills are awesome and those lashes really give it an excellent completed look!
Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.
Reha that looks really good! it pairs very nicely with a red lip. I've always envied how salons can get the foundation to look picture perfect (as you have done) what's your secret!? what foundation do you use? what are the application steps?
Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.
WOW! That is all.
Re: My forays into the world of eye makeup.
Thank you!
Thank you so much!!!
I can’t believe you’re asking ME Marwah!!! I feel honored. ![]()
Right now, I am experimenting with different foundations to find one that I like working with. I have used Maybelline’s Fit makeup but don’t like it due to the oiliness factor. It doesn’t look good on desi skin tones. Cover FX is good but doesn’t agree with everyone plus since is a cream base it takes a very skilled hand to make it look flawless…I find myself tugging too much. In this one, I used Revlon’s Colorstay Foundation for combo skin. I really worked it into her skin with a foundation brush (Costco brand) and then I found that using a giant fluffy brush to literally fluff powder all over is what makes a huge difference. For her, I used MAC NC30. I highlight a little bit using a simple drugstore highlighter by Physician’s Formula and do the blush following that.
I really like the Revlon Colorstay so far…it looks great on everyone and doesn’t oxidize as much as MAC does.
Thank you so so much!
I have a general question for the makeup gurus…have any of you guys worked or had airbrush makeup done? Do you find it to be worth it?
