is it correct? I eat two proper desi meals a day plus breakfast and I can barely get to my 1200 net calorie limit. Even though I feel like I’m eating a lot.
I think if you weight the ingredients separately you may get a fairer idea. Eg. Weight the amount of flour you use do roti, and the ingredients in your salan. Will take alot of time at first but will be more accurate
Agree with hmmna... A good start is a food scale just to measure out the ingredients you only until you can gauge how much calories your main dishes have per serving size.
I use MFP too and looking at the database you can't be sure their dish is the same as yours so I have been creating my own recipes by weighing things out it is handy especially if it is a dish that may feature at your table often, plus you only have to do this once and save your recipe, I have quite a few now and it is easy to track what is going on.
I have found it tricky logging ramadhan fried food though, firstly i made most of the freezer snacky things in bulk so how could i work out per portion it wouldn't be possible and also how do you work out fried food calories anyway?
Also my fitness pal "burnt" cals are just an indication and not 100% accurate as different people burn calories differently. I would suggest investing into a heart rate monitor to see how many cals you are actually burning so you not consuming them all back again.
