a few of my male relatives are in tableeghi jamaat and i have always been hearing from some of my cousins that they would like to go and perform jihad. recently one of my first cousins went for “jihad” to Kashmir. he’s, as the elders in my family say, back to his senses now, after his father went to Kashmir and searched for him and brought him back. he’s a very “innocent and naive happy go lucky” kind of guy. a good and “bhola” kinda guy.
how did the whole incident transpire? he was unemployed and had nothing to do the whole day, had just gotten out of college. his parents put him in a madrassah for some religious education so that atleast he’ll learn something good and not waste his time. it was a very “balanced” and purely educational kind of madrassah. there he just met up with a few boys his age, and they were shown a mixture of putting their life to some use, helping their Muslim brothers, and basically just the folly of misguided youth and emotion. but overall it was more of a fun adventure for these young boys than an idelogical or serious move, something that they just did without putting much thought into it.
my cousin went to kashmir without informing anyone in our family, it was more of a spur of the moment thing, and basically when he was missing, my uncle (his dad) got alarmed, and then after investigations, went to Kashmir and brought him back.
When I was in High school in Abbottabad, three of my friends decided to go t0 kashmir to fight also. The were inflienced by a women that was in a hospital in Abbottabad and was raped by Indian soldiers. Three of them didnt even get to kashmir and the family found out and brought them back.

He definitely got something "good", the Mullahtic idiotic good. I wonder what kind of parents would put their "college educated" son in the hands of Mullahs. Is your uncle living in UK?
I also wonder the mental level of this "college educated" kid who just happened to be "Mama's boy" first and then became a "Qari's boy".
There are tones of things to do for a "college educated" boy oops man!.
Teach in local school for free, or get paid for helping in a tuition center. My goodness what is happening to our new generation. Irem! I hope you are not kidding us.
^ Kashmir is near, they used to go to everywhere. but now it is banned.
Thats why all the mujahids have nothing to do now and they are after mushi
Irem- It happened a lot few years ago. It seems he tried to go on his own(or with some friends) which was not posible. The serious jihaad organizations used give rigorous training(for year or so) and then they would send few of them.
Its all brainwashing. And that is age is perfect for it.

Why do they always go to Kashmir? What happend to all the other Jihads
like Afghansitan and Chechnya and dare I say Palestine?
See Code-Reds reply, but "they" (serious jihadists) went to all the places where muslims were causing troubles or were the cause.
It is a tragedy of Islam that all of them are in a hurry to reach heaven. Though as per my mythology all of them have gone to hell, only the ways were different; Chechnya, Palestine, or Kashmir and many have chosen the nearest way, I mean Talibans.
Whoa! I thought "Jihad Training Camps" were just propaganda and lies told by Pakistani govt and aid and attention. There really are such things?
There really were such things. Haven't seen one but yes heard from many. It all started after Uncle Sam decided to rasie Jihadists against the evil Soviets. If you are intelligent enough you would know the rest of the story.

Well I guess if your poor and unemployed on the streets of some Paki city, Janat seems like a very attractive alternative...
You cant blame them for being poor and without prospects. Blame that on our govt and society.

Lame excuse and awful language you patriot!. Irem talked about her "college educated" cousin. As I mentioned he should have started teaching kids to make some money.
Unfortunately he was still a "boy" and not a man. So he couldn't use his brains for the good of the country.

Blaming the govt. is a fashion for these so called patriots. The country and the society gives "free" education to majority of the school and college students. This is supposed to enable our youth to use their brains. Our "boys" like Irem's cousin never become men, with self-respect and a creative mind.

One of my cousin got martyred in Kashmir at the hands of Indian army in 1997. He was a person I would never forget - so kind and sweet.
and yes he did go with his parents' permission.
His friend was able to get the lesser honour of being ghaazi.** However he did send around 5 Indian soldiers to hell.**
This is besdies my uncle's and a few other members martyrdom in 1947 migration to Pakistan from India. That was a Jihad in itself.
