Even if you stop working, or find a work from home job… if the gentleman can not accept that his wife to be ‘has ever worked’ then one of you two needs to invent a time machine.
You need to explain the situation to him, very plainly…you cant change the fact that you worked in the past, you have to work to try and help with school expenses, and that you would rather stop working as well, and dont intend to after getting married. if he does not understand, then there are bigger issues around control that only you can determine if that is something for you.
Now to answer your question, I dont know of many companies that hire general resources myself, plus I dont know where you are or your skill set, experience etc. you could look at things like elance for project joobs, also translation directory pays people to translate. There are some companies which have their customer service people work remotely, i believe jetblue was doing it at one time and there is a company which is a remote admin i.e. you support a bunch of executives as their admin asst, arranging flights, logistics, calendars etc. These are not easy to get from what I know.
