My favourite recipies

Desert for Iftari…

Well, I do not have a name for it BUT its really tasty and so easy to make. It is basically a dish that can be made within 10 mins, something which I enjoy the most. And for all those people who are health conscious for no reason like moi, this is indeed a treat…

So, all one needs is,

Jelly powder(preferably vanilla or pineapple flavored) . Cook it up and set aside for it to take shape. Then take a knife and cut the jelly in very small square pieces…

A tin of pineaples (drain all the juice)

2 big apples and 4 big bannanas ( finally chopped)

a medium sized pack of cream

Now add all ingredients together and mix well until the jelly totally disapears and leaves red or either yellow colored traces (depending upon the flavor of your choice). Now, the interesting bit is that no one should be able to tell that you have actually used jelly and the color of the dish is because of that. So, it all depends on how well you mix it.

Refrigerate it for atleast 10 mins so that it is chilled…

If you want you can also add icing sugar.

Enjoy!

I will try to add more from my 10 min recipies.

please do, I need some 10 minute recipes.

Sounds very interesting lost soul.

hey you are welcome Shahreen.
Cat, I can add more but do you live in dorm or you have your own apartment?

Khair, this is what I literally made in 10 mins, right before the Aftari.

"Chicken-Egg Fried Rice"

---Boil rice and keep them aside.

---Take two eggs depending upon the quantity of rice and beat them, add food color and then fry the eggs, stirr and break into small lumps.

---Now, you need chicken cubes if you do not have chicken stock. If you have Shreded chicken thats best. You can always keep that in a container and use it later with pasta or rice.

---What we also do is that we chopp the carrots, bell peppers(capsicum),cabbage and refrigerate. Green peas, I am sure are also found in any household. Those who live in western countries can buy those cans of vegetables and peas.

--- Now, take a frying pan, add 4-5 table spoons of oil in it and heat.
Add all the vegetables, shredded chicken, salt, black pepper, chillie sauce, soya sauce, ajino motto, eggs and stirr on high flame.

--- Once, the water from the vegetables have dried up;transfer the contents of the pan to the pan of rice and mix well without breaking the rice. Enjoy!

Try it atleast once. Its really tasty. I am sure most of us have these ingredients at our homes.

"Vegetable Hot Soup"

Take cans of your favourite vegetables.

Drain and blend.

Take vegetable or any stock.

Add the blended veges with the stock and heat through.

Add cooked pasta or rice or spaghetti.

Garnish with thinly sliced vegetables like green onions, carrots, capsicums.

Flavor with salt and pepper.

Thicken with tablespoon of while sauce or cornflour... :)

slice balls??

astagfirullah KAKA hahaha

lost soul :- what can one use if there is no ajino moto ?

Yes Kaka, slice balls. My mentor used the same words when she taught me, so I decided to post it as it is.

diva, ajino motto as you know is Sodium gultamate. Even if you do not have it, you can use ordinary salt, I believe. This is because since you will be using so many other sauces like soya, chilli, oyester(depending upon the dish), they 'll compensate for that salt.

"Chicken Taryaki"
(i 've got to make iftari and then got loads of work so I 'll be quick)

This is another ready to cook, fat free dish. I bet you'll just love it, coz my ppl liked it too. :) You need to add or reduce the ingredients according to the amount of rice and chicken you have.

1) chicken, boneless
3tbsp oil
2 tbsp garlic

fry the chicken pieces that are cut in cubes in a ok for 15 mins or until they are done.

2) "Taryaki sauce"(its a bit sweet and sour)

250 ml water
1 chicken cube
5 tb sp soya sauce
4 tbsp sugar

boil all the above ingredients in water and gradually add corn flour dissolved in water after few minuites to make the sauce thick.

"Garlic fried Rice"

Boil rice and afterwards add garlic, butter and few tsps of soya sauce. Take a spatuala and gently mix all the ingridients or rather fold then in the rice. You can add sring onions if you wish.

Put chicken on one side of a dish, evenly add sauce on the chicken.
And eat Chicken taryaki with garlic fried rice and enjoy :D
