I just did my FSc pre-engg. I have got 455 marks in FSc-1 out of 520. I have taken some Entry Tests.
LUMS SSE
I failed this test.
NUST
My merit no. is 1208. They have told me to wait untill next list is displayed.
GIKI
My merit no. is 550. I have been selected in COMPUTER SYSTEMS ENGINEERING.
So, can someone tell me if there are any chances of upgradation of faculty in GIKI. I want to go up to Materials or Mecahnical.
What is the scope of Computer engg.
Since I have got good score in FSC, I am hopeful to get into UET LAHORE ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL
should i join GIK in CE or join UET in elect. or mech.
Computer systems engineering is a pretty good field. So is electrical enginnering. Listen to your heart and do whatever you are most inclined towards. After all you will probably be doing it for the rest of your life.
traditionally computer engineering faculty is one of the harder ones to get into, which means that more people will be trying to transfer from CE to MM/ME rather than the other way round. I think MM/ME is a pretty good field (jobs wise) in Pakistan, so if thats your interest you should talk to the department heads and try to get a transfer, it is usually easier to transfer into MM/ME.
while the faculty of GIKI computer engineering is really low on resources, it still has a good brand value, so it isnt a bad option. Definitely the best place if you want to study MM in Pakistan.

Can you please tell me how can I change my faculty at GIKI. I am interested in Mechanical Engg.
For the shear purpose of transfer of faculty, I travelled from Lahore to Islamabad and then to the remote Topi village. I met an old over-confident bossy-type man ( he is from Faisal Town Lahore, may be you know him ).
He was extremely rude to me. I talked to him.
I '' sIR, I want to shift my faculty from CE to ME''
HE '' If you want to become the king of Pakistan, will you? You have no right to ask such absurd things and -------------------------"
His words discouraged me and I promptly left GIKI Campus. I have heard from a GIKIAN that he tranfered his faculty from Materials to Electronics. Can you share with me your experience or other GIKIANS'.

I would really wish to know someone's first hand experience in this regard
in the second list of NUST I have been selected in the discipline of Mechanical Engineering at Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC), Karachi. I have still the chances to get into Electrical or Mechanical at UET Lahore. I have not submitted dues at GIKI and they have dropped my name from selection list.
Now between the following two options I have to prefer one.
1. UET LAHORE
2. PNEC NUST KARACHI
Any advice?
