someone made a thread few days ago about your worst makeup disaster, i couldn’t find it so i am making this new one about my new eyeliner disaster.
so here is what happened.
i have been using urban decay’s zero as an eyeliner since over a year now and i am pretty happy with it. then i bought a sonia kashuk bent eyeliner brush and i wanted to try it with a gel eyeliner. i have a brown gel eyeliner which i was using fro practicing but once i thought i have the trick i started looking for a black gel eyeliner.
i saw this video on yourtube and i thought i should try this eyeliner.
i went to my local sephora yesterday and took a look at it. it comes in three colors, one is black, one is black with glitter and then there is a flat brown one. i also looked at other gel eyeliner but i like how this one has a shininess/sheen compare to the flat black color eyeliner pencils gives. so i bought it.
i came home and opened it and thought…hmmm…the surface look a bit gritty i wonder why???..i was too excited to try it out that i didn’t care and went ahead and applied it…since i was a bit too excited i applied a lot of it, tried every single winged/arabic/indian/pakistan/xyz style i couldn’t thought of. so i end up with like 6 layers of eyeliner. then i thought…hmmmm…let me try to smudge it and see how it will look. BIG MISTAKE. what i didn’t realized it even after applying those 6 layers that i had accidentally gotten the glitter liner instead of the flat black one. so once i tried smudging it the glitter showed up (i have no clue with i didn’t really noticed it before…i am part blind i guess). that glitter literally got smeared over my entire face and got in to my eyes. i wear contact lenses and currently i don’t have any functional glasses because my only pair is broken. so when the glitter went in to my eyes i couldn’t really got my lenses out because then i would be completely blind (as compare to part blind which i am even with lenses ) i had a disco vision for quite a long time and then i got annoyed and took my contacts off, rinsed them with the solution and put them back on but some how those stupid glitter chunks was stuck to them and wouldn’t get off no matter what. so i had to take them off and throw them away and dig out my broken glasses, tapped them (since they were broken) and had to wear them for rest of the day. thanks god it was Sunday and i didn’t had to go anywhere.
the glitter was still on my face when i woke up this morning, even though i had washed my face many times since yesterday.
this morning i applied it again for college, a very thin layers and no smudging this time i think it looked quite good. but i still hate the glitter that shows through. even though i hate not having sun since last many days but today i was glad that it’s supper cloudy/snowy/rainy. if it was sunny i have no clue how i could have handled it with sun reflecting through those glitter chunks.
again..it’s a decent eyeliner. not exactly water proof, but it survived through wazu, so the water didn’t exactly made it run down my face. i don’t have oily lids so don’t always have problems with smudge unless it’s a very crappy eyeliner. i think it looks nice on my face but i think i am still going to get it changed and get a flat black one because i can’t really afford to throw away any more contacts.
punjabi rose, i really like that eyeliner, i think you should def. try it out. i have tried MAC's fluid line before and it made my eyes red for some reason, and DID NOT last through wazu :( and it dried in the jar (which was tightly closed) even before i used up less the quarter of the product.

sorry if i misunderstood, but not just the eyeliner all makeup has to be washed off before doing wadu. if someone did wadu over makeup it's not valid.
i tried them in store, but they didn't impress me a bit.

really?? i heard that the water has to reach the skin in order for the wazu to be valid. and the water definitely reaches my skin and makes it wet even if the eyeliner or any other makeup is on. it's not like plastic or nail polish sort of a thing. but since you mentioned i will look in to it, and if you are right i am going to start washing the eyeliner off.
